Had a wonderful Sunday lunch here today. Roast beef with all the trimmings lovely and hot and all the veg was fresh. This place has a great atmosphere and the drinks are reasonable too. Would definitely recommend and have booked for Mother's Day for a special treat for the four generations. Wonderful if you get a chance try the pizzas... More
Out with some friends and decided to try the Bell & Castle for a drink. This is a smart watering hole with a friendly atmosphere and a good selection of well kept beers and lagers, as a result we did linger for more than just one we originally planned. Did not eat here but have to say the menu was... More
Visited with a group of 22 for a friend's special birthday. We all had a sit down Sunday roast, it was gorgeous, I had roast beef sitting on mash with roast potatoes, parsnips and a HUGE homemade Yorkshire pudding & gravy, with dishes of veg to serve ourselves! Had a lovely afternoon with some live music after. All had a... More
Lovely cosy surroundings and very friendly staff. Eating area is set away from main bar and TV area. Menu of pastas, pizzas and burgers BUT everything is cooked from scratch on the premises. Sweet potato chips and dips, home made tortillas with guacamole, yummy pasta and pizza. One word of warning............portions are huge!

Our meals were superb. Where we sat we could view our food being prepared and cooked. I viewed the large garden and outside leather seating area which looked very inviting, even... More
lovely bar on a main road into derby city. good choice of well-kept ales, and aspalls cider. lovely large farmhouse style tables with chairs on one side of the the, and benches with padding on the other. was quiet when we visited on a saturday evening but this was pleasant. we didn't eat here on this occasion.
We decided to have our wedding reception here after attending our neighbours birthday there last year. We certainly weren't disappointed. Food was amazing! Nothing was too much trouble. Hayley was amazing. She made everything so much easier and not stressful at all. We even left the decorating of our tables to her and the room, gazebo and garden looked beautiful.... More
Me and my wife visited this pub for the first time today. We chose to sit out in the garden. We went with the sunday roast. I ordered the special lamb and my wife went with chicken. We both loved the food. It was too generous for us as we couldnt finish it, but it definetely tasted good. The service... More
