Food was good, as is usual for a Toby. However the service we received from Lynne was poor. Seemed to want to rush is through our meal and get us out of the door, even though it wasn't busy and there were tables free. Took...More

I have not been to TC for a while but I have to say today I was disappointed. The beef was rather fatty, the veg not really very hot. Broccoli not cooked. They were very busy, as usual, but I felt the standard had dropped....More

I'm sorry to hear you had a disappointing visit to us and that your meal wasn't up to our usual standard. Our vegetables are steamed, and so aren't cooked to be soft mush, as they continue to cook a little on the hot deck and...More

Very good value for money although when our party of four arrived at the restaurant, there was no staff member to be seen and no signs indicating that we needed to wait to be seated so we were unsure of what to do at this...More

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to read that your visit wasn't up to our usual standards and that your service was slow. The host would have been seating someone in the restaurant and so would have come straight back to greet you at...More

Just a good roast nothing amazing, lots of fresh vegetables, nice friendly staff. delicious desserts, the meat could be carved a little thicker, but for the money you can't complain.

The Toby Carvery is worth checking out. Honestly, I prefer not to eat at buffets. However, the food at the Toby is served buffet style. The lines are pretty long, but move fairly quickly. If you like a traditional English roast dinner and a lot...More

We are sorry to read of your poor dining experience with us. The restaurant is a very busy one and so if you visit at peak times, waiting for both a table and the carvery is unavoidable. If you wanted to avoid this, it would...More

We have eaten at many Toby restaurants, but this one was disappointing. Less meat than normally served at other Toby's and veg all in need of replenishing. Service can only be described as strange. Waitress appeared to be distant and unprepared. We arrived at 2pm...More

It's cheap and cheerful. Don't expect fine dining. The food can be good , you get lots of it and it's great if you need a roast at short notice. The downside is that it tends to be heaving. Therefore you are met sometimes with...More

Description
Welcome to the Toby Carvery The Friary. When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Swindon’s favourite carvery restaurant. Drop by and you'll find lots more on offer, including cooked breakfasts and tasty specials.
