This was a very enjoyable dining experience. Difficult to find something not to like. My fiancee and I loved the food. We shared an appetiser of cured meats, cheese, olives, etc., then I had the mussels for starter - very succulent, together with a flavoursome sauce - and my fiancee had a salad. For mains I had the duck and my fiancee had the ravioli (spinach and ricotto) with a rocket parmesan side salad. With a couple of soft drinks the cost came to £78, so not a cheap meal, but good for a special occasion. We were only offered the main menu. I didn't know there was a separate lunch menu, but have since seen online that there is one. The lunch menu looks very good value. So my only gripe was that I wasn't offered the choice of a lunch menu (our booking was 2.15pm) and didn't know there was a separate one. I will know next time. To be fair, I had left a message with the booking to say I was the person who had to cancel Saturday evening booking at shor notice so maybe they though I was looking forwards to dinner rather than lunch with them. I thoroughly recommend La Strada. Friendly staff, good table service, and very good food.

“Had an amazing time at La strada! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the seafood Pasta, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. Highly recommend!”

We had a family meal here last night. It's an easy place to find and has a big car park. The tables were clean and well spaced out so it was a pleasant environment. The menu had plenty of options and service was pleasant and engaging. The food arrived quickly, my salmon with saffron risotto was delicious and everyone else enjoyed theirs too. We followed up with desserts and my banoffee pie was fabulous. All in all a lovely evening, nice service, lovely food and great value.

Having visited La Strada previously I decided it would be the ideal venue for my engagement meal and I wasn’t wrong - the food and service was absolutely faultless! With the exception of my partner all of the food was pre-ordered and as well as being served promptly on arrival, everyone got exactly what they ordered with no issues (even all the side orders!), so that shows the attention to detail from both the kitchen and front of house staff. My partner and I are so grateful for how the evening went and all of the staff have our thanks for rounding off a perfect day.

First time here while staying with family and can't rate this restaurant highly enough. The service was great and the waitress passed on how fussy I was with duck breast and it was cooked exactly to my taste. Followed by a wonderfully creamy tiramisu. Will definitely come here again when visiting 😊

Probably works best for big groups and families when food isn’t the main focus. Menu choices are ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Service was pedestrian. Reminded me of the old adage about why waiters live so long - because death can’t catch their attention. Large outside area for smokers and louder diners. Food was acceptable but a long way from excellent. They make a valiant effort to cater for gluten free or veggie diets. Calzone was good, GF pizza was undercooked, pollo al fungi was not bad but I’m not fond of large chunks of al dente vegetables. Risotto ok, not exceptional. All round a basic eatery, not for the gourmet.

We had a fantastic evening at La Strada celebrating my husband’s retirement with friends. All the dishes we had were so delicious and beautifully presented and the lovely ladies looking after us were so friendly and helpful, all of our party were highly impressed. We can’t wait to go back to sample more dishes from the extensive menu. We’d highly recommend a visit to La Strada to anyone who appreciates authentic Italian food. Definitely the best Italian restaurant in Swindon and the surrounding area in my opinion.

We visited La Strada last night to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, we chose well, we had the best time. The setting was perfect, the decor was lovely; I felt like I could have been in Tuscany. The staff had set the tables in a large square so everyone could see and chat to all 18 guests, which made such a difference. The food was delicious, and 18 meals came out hot and at the same time so a huge thanks to the chefs. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed their meal and my Son who is Coeliac (Gluten Free) was able to choose from nearly everything off the menu. The Staff were so friendly and made such a fuss of our family, they even came out and sang happy birthday with us. I even had a chance to practice my limited Italian without fear he might start talking to me in Italian exposing my very basic knowledge of the language. I did ask where he worked instead of where the toilet was which made him laugh…doh! This country pub is perfectly situated on the road between Avebury and Wroughton, so if you’re visiting Avebury and want to have a beautiful meal I can’t recommend LaStrada highly enough.

After seeing the reviews of this place i had to come, maybe my expectations were very high ? but i can honestly say this was hands down the worse Sunday roast we have ever had to eat, We booked as we were sure by the reviews the popularity would be huge. We walked in at 2 pm prime time for a Sunday roast to an empty restaurant, We both ordered sirloin of beef, I eyed the plates coming towards us and mouth watering in anticipation my shoulders dropped at what i saw ! There was no " can i get you any condiments? " and had to try and get the attention of someone to get some horseradish for us . On offer was 2 thick slices of beef ( shoe leather) white cabbage, carrots and a raw floret of cauliflower, the only pleasant thing was the broccoli, a burnt Yorkshire pudding (not even homemade) and as for the roast potatoes, i really don't want to describe it as roast, as there was little roasting about how they had been cooked, i would say boiled and threatened with heat on one side not one slight crispness about then, To top it all it was all sat in an inch of watery gravy, we were just drawing to a close of finishing our vegetables when a dish of raw cauliflower was put on the table covered in melted mozzarella and sat in water we couldn't even cut it as it was raw ! by this time we had given up and asked for the bill, at no time did we get a check back at the table asking if everything was OK ? because there was nothing OK about this meal. maybe it was our error going to an Italian for a roast but having seen the reviews i thought it a 'must to go'. disappointing is one word of many to describe the quality of food and somewhere never to be repeated for us i'm afraid,

This was the second visit to this restaurant for my wife and I in the last 4 weeks. On this occasion we both chose steaks (my wife had the sirloin and I had the T-bone). Both were cooked to perfection. Both sauces that we chose were excellent. The staff, although different to those we met on our first visit, were again very welcoming and professional. The dining areas are very clean and tidy and tables are well spaced. A charming venue just on the outskirts of Swindon which is becoming a favourite 'go to' for us.

Such a friendly restaurant with fabulous food. We visited to celebrate my son’s 15th birthday as he wanted pizza and the staff went out of their way to make it extra special. Really love this place! Thank you so much 😍

Disappointing ! First visit with family. Having read the reviews we thought it would be a brilliant choice. Sadly, we were very disappointed with most meals being very bland and tasteless. So then out came the desserts. Tiramisu was all cream with very little taste. Not even up to prepared ones in supermarket. Overall a very disappointing visit. What we hoped was going to be an enjoyable true Italian experience was completely lacklustre. Shall not be making a repeat visit

I have driven passed La Strada so many times over the years and never bothered going in until this weekend. "It’s just another Italian restaurant" I’ve always thought. Well, I’m pleased to say it isn’t just another Italian restaurant, The food was excellent and whilst a little more expensive than I would expect for Italian, it was worth the extra. As a vegan I had the Verdure (vegetable pasta) and it was delicious; my mum had salmon and risotto which she said was the best she’d had in a long time. Her pudding, a lemon and lime cheesecake was huge, and she loved it. I had vegan ice cream with espresso (affogato) which was good. Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere and damn good food.

Was staying in Swindon and used trip advisor to look for somewhere nice to eat. The reviews were so good that we decided to take a drive out of town. So glad we did, the food was divine. I had meatballs from the specials board followed by a delicious melt in the mouth risotto both were cooked to perfection. We were very impressed by how reasonably priced the food was too.

Ours was a meal for two and it proved to be the culinary highlight of our mini break visit to Avebury and environs. My partner is a linguist and she had the Linguine La Strada (Mussels, king prawns and calamari in a white wine sauce £14.95) and a chat with the waiter in Italian. I sat back and marvelled at her accent, which the waiter confirmed was very good. They chatted in Italian, French and English. This was peak charm, from my point of view. The food was very good and priced attractively. The service was unobtrusive and attentive, the perfect balance. My Spaghetti con Polpette (meatballs, to the likes of me) was super (£12.55). The place is light and airy with a cafe style. There was plenty of room between tables. The background sounds were well chosen, not too loud and included proper Italian songs. I can't remember what my dessert was called but it was a chocolate sponge served hot, with chocolate sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It had a fresh strawberry on top. It was substantial and, being a light sponge, very easy to eat. It was lovely. For anyone who has been made nervous of going out, this is a very good place to get over that, you will find you have plenty of room to breathe. The people are genuine and a pleasure to encounter. The menu is well chosen (again, the balance just right, plenty of choice but not too much). It was great experience. I wish I lived closer.
