This was a great place for dinner with a good selection of food at a reasonable price. Even my fussy grandson tucked into the my rack of ribs plus his chicken burger. Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Both the waitresses that served us were very friendly and efficient, attentive but not overly so. Tables were promptly cleared after each course and drinks quickly replenished when running low. The food was served quickly yet was clearly fresh with fantastic presentation...- just screamed EAT ME!! We opted for the burger and a sourdough pizza - both were the best we’ve had, pub grub come gourmet dining at its finest. Highly recommend to all, menu is varied and should suit all appetites. First time we have visited here and is now sure to be our first choice for all outings in the future. It’s a small intimate venue so booking in advance is a must. Absolutely amazing food, staff, location and they were so accommodating too. This is the second time I’ve booked for family birthdays and I honestly cannot fault them. It’s a family run business which is very inviting and the food is really, really good and very...well presented. You get more than just a pub vibe here. This time we visited it was for a 70th birthday and the landlady had kindly put up banners and table decs for us at no extra cost and wasn’t even requested but such a nice touch. We booked a Sunday lunch when we were going to be on the road between Gloucester and London. The Heart in Hand is well placed - about half a mile off the A417. We were welcomed when we arrived and shown straight to our table....The pub interior is modern yet cosy. We both ordered the roast beef dinner (£14.95) and it was in front of us in ten minutes. Absolutely delicious. The beef was the tenderest, most succulent I have ever tasted. We finished off with dessert and coffee and were on our way again in an hour. I'm not saying that speed is actually a virtue but service was so efficient and attentive that speed was the natural consequence of that, and although the service was speedy we did not feel rushed: we felt we had all the time we wanted We will definitely return.More

Great meals lots of food on the plates we had a fish and chips and half of chicken .Both meals were large and tasty ,my wife then had a crumble for a sweet again very good .Very friendly landlord etc .

Best Gastro pub we’ve ever visited. We were only staying in the area for 2 days, accidentally came across it and ended up having lunch and dinner on both days … even had delicious cake and coffee there just before we left to return home...to Holland. The food will match any good restaurant, and the wines are excellent both in terms of choice and quality … both food and wines are friendly priced … by the way, they also serve a great range of beers and real ales. The ambiance is relaxed jolly and fun, which stimulates easily-flowing conversations and lots of laughter … the place is tastefully decorated and there’s a large well-maintained garden at the back with lots of sunny and shaded places to sit to enjoy your food and drinks … even the toilets are clean and well-serviced. The owners, Darren and Clare, are really special, as is their son Harry … super-welcoming, very friendly and superb service … and these are the values they have instilled in all of their staff … all focused on giving their customers a lovely experience. We will return for sure next time we’re in that part of the UK, and would make a detour to visit … highly recommend others to do the same.More

We’ve been to the Heart In Hand a few times for Sunday lunch and it just gets better and better. We went yesterday and the food arrived about 10 mins after ordering and was delicious! Generous portions of home cooked food at a very reasonable...price. Sunday roast was followed by home made cheesecake which was equally delicious! I can’t rate his place highly enough for genuine home cooked food in a village setting.More

Travelled all the way from Birmingham to this lovely local pub. Was welcomed in like family and ate delicious food! Highly recommend the hallumi fries and honeycomb cheesecake. Lovely family run pub with excellent atmosphere and service. Lovely selection of gins. Couldn’t recommend more!!!
