The customer service from when we entered was brilliant, we were completely taken care of and enjoyed our experience.
The food itself was incredible, probably the best Turkish food I have had. We were brought complimentary bread and dips and the sharing platter for 2 was huge and so tasty!
I ordered a mojito (which was delicious) and the server came over with another and advised it was 2 for one and she didn’t want me to miss out on the deal
The restaurant itself is beautiful and would be lovely for a birthday event or date night.
We found this restaurant by chance and although we live over an hour and a half from the restaurant, we will make sure we return for the amazing food and service
If you are planning on giving it a try, definitely book a table as it got busier and busier as we were there.

We had a great meal a De Roka on Saturday night. Food was fresh, tasty and portion sizes were ample. We had the sharing platter for 2 which came with rice and vegatables. All the meat was flavoursome and tender. Special mention for the chicken Beykti.. We've never had that before but would order that again as a dish on its own.
All the staff we encountered were polite, friendly, welcoming.
There was a belly dancer throughout the evening which added to the atmosphere. Also from about just after 8 when we arrived they had a live singer with guitar doing an acoustic set, which was absolutely brilliant. I don't know if this was a one off for the valentines day weekend, but he was great and added to great atmosphere of the restuarant.
One thing that let it down was the fact we had a bit of our platter left over, which we asked to be boxed up. The waiter got distracted I think and we had to request this. It turns out they had binned it. The waiter and another member of staff came over to apologise and gave us complimentary dessert and also a full glass of processeco (complimentary half glasses were given to everyone at the end of their meal) each as a way of an apology. We accepted this and they were genuine in their apology, these things happen.
We would visit here again

We visited De Roka this week whilst visiting Milton Keynes for our team building away day. There was a large group of us and we were all looked after very well by the team. We were given food and wine recommendations when we asked and nothing was too much bother. we shared a selection of the hot and cold mezze as a starter and this worked extremely well, allowing everyone to try a little bit of everything. Our waitress Katie was great, constantly keeping us topped up with both food and drink and making sure everyone in our group was happy. They even gave us some free prosecco to celebrate which really topped off the whole experience for our team and made the experience even more memorable . Overall, the food was great and the service was exceptional. This is a great place for anyone looking to book a group meal or special occasion.

After looking at the website I decided to book as it all sounded lovely. Arrived only to be told it was a ‘set menu for £30 each which was not on the website and I was not informed about when booking. Considering it was 7 pm on valentines we decided to go ahead as we were there and it seemed welcoming only to discover bright lighting and the restaurant to be very cold.
We looked at the very limited choice with very little description and waited to order. And waited and waited and waited to order. Finally ordered our wine and food as we were ready and starving.
Wine came along with bread and starters all at the same time pretty much.
Our starter was a hot and cold mix but obviously being pre made and left for ages was actually pretty much all cold.
We then waited ages and again had to ask for some water.
Our mains arrived nearly 45 minutes after. Pretty sure it was microwave rice and if not microwave rice may have been a better choice. Mousakka was flavourless and looked very unappetising.
Mixed kebab had ok meat. Chicken better than lamb. Past that some weird Chinese stir fried veg on the plate was quite off putting.
After 15 minutes table was cleared and then another 10 minutes and were offered menus for desert. We decided that the food had been so bad we would skip desert and just pay and leave.
Finally got the bill and had to refuse to pay service charge for the lack of service.
While we were there the restaurant was not very busy but still service was incredibly slow and sporadic.
We will not be recommending anyone to go there and won’t be visiting again. Have eaten most places in MK and this has been the poorest by far.

Too expensive for the portion size. You will regret if you have been to Antep Kitchen or Pasha in MK.
Waiters weren't really paying attention.
Cheated us on eat out to help out discount - we ordered 2 high value sharing platters in starter and main course to share between 3 of us and few things on the side but the staff said we will only give discount for 2 people as we ordered 2 main dishes (even though equal to 5 or 6 individual dishes). Additionally service charge was applied without consent.
Never going back again!
Looks like customers and their satisfaction is their last priority and are in business of making quick money.
Better visit Antep Kitchen or Pasha!

Came here on a weekday evening to make the most of the eat out to help out scheme. When we arrived, they didn't have our booking despite us calling up to book and having it confirmed several days earlier. Luckily they were still able to seat us. The starters were great, and the complimentary bread tasted good. Only giving the restaurant 3 stars because I ordered the goats cheese and hazelnut salad and the salad that was served didn't have either of those ingredients. I asked the waitress if it was the correct order and she checked with the kitchen. They came back to say that they had ran out of the goats cheese and hazelnuts so replaced with a different cheese and no nuts. The waitress said they would take the meal off the bill and I could order something else, which is the least I would expect given it was a different meal to the one ordered. Disappointing that the kitchen didn't let me know earlier so I could have ordered something else, shame that they thought they could sneak a different meal. It meant I watched my partner eat and then had my different main course 20 minutes later when it was cooked. The waitress was really friendly so it is a shame the kitchen let down the service that night.

If we managed to escape Covid it will be a miracle! The tables are so close, people sit back to back. None of the waiters are wearing masks and like to get cosy when taking the order. The standards of cleanliness are very poor, the food is way too overpriced and the mixed grill was indeed charcoal! Hospitality and good customer service is alien to this restaurant so I give it 6 months max before they go out of business.

After hearing great feedback we decided to visit this restaurant. The atmosphere is beautiful however the service and food unfortunately does not match. The staff fail to advise if food is unable on the menu bringing you alternatives without consulting you. When we queried this we were rudely asked whether we wanted the food or not!
A manager came over offering a free dessert and to remove the drinks from the bill given the hour wait for the food and receiving something we had not ordered. When the bill came the drinks were not removed as agreed. The manager who came over was very rude, when we advised we had waited over an hour for our food he stated “so have other customers” as though this was ok. He advised he would have to check with the other manager who offered the resolution and walked off abruptly. He did not return back to the table however sent the waitress over with the amended bill. I was left feeling very disappointed and would not return to this restaurant. It was interesting to note the restaurant ethos was about delivering great food and customer experience.

We expected a really classy fun night with great cocktails and a great atmosphere and vibe.
However it wasn’t. It’s so loud you can’t even hear the music. Defiantly no vibe at all could barely have a conversation.
Meat was chewy and over salted.
Cocktails were tasteless and lacked alcohol.
Asked for an apple martini off the menu (on the menu with a price and a description) the waiter then demanded they didn’t do apple martinis. We had to show him the menu.
Our waitress kept hovering but not doing anything just making awkward eye contact.
All the staff were running about like headless chickens really chaotic and unorganised experience. So many staff but no one really taking control or doing a lot.
Took 15 minutes to receive the food menu rook another hour for the starter to arrive.
Free bread and dips were good though
Decor was really tatty and could do with tidying up. Going upstairs to the toilet was cold and awkward with all their storage and food boxes visibility stored at the stairs.
Wouldn’t return or recommended.
There was easy parking outside.
Everything overpriced had to ask for the 10% service charge to be removed as the service wasn’t up to standards.

The food was okay, came in for a special occasion, when we asked for a drink we were told the bar is busy so we didn’t... we were all just a bit taken back by it, eventually managed to order cocktails they didn’t come, ordered them again, they took so long to come we only managed to order one drink the whole time we were there. Very crammed in, so much so that everyone was bumping chairs into each other, asked for the bill it took so long to come I had to go get someone and ask for it again. Just feels very cramped very over worked it’s letting down the restaurant, everything took so long wasn’t great for very average food.

We went as a family and they already had a service charge on the bill when there were only 8 of us, 3 of which are children. Pasta - ordered no chillies and they gave her chillies when she has allergies. Mousaka and pasta was very salty and they said it must be us. Tasteless meat ! My honest feeling is that they pre cook the food and can’t make your food to your requirement.
Rude staff who didn’t care.
Most importantly, you don’t need to pre book and there were no social distancing at all.

Initially everything looks nice the food arrived we decided to go for a tapas sort of selection of starters. All looked nice but when the fried Brie arrived mine was just crispy outside no Brie in the middle. The pate was bland and tasteless, the best bit was mango chutney. For over £5 we got precisely 5 bits of calamities which were over fried like the Brie.
Not one to complain I thought I would mention it to see how they responded as it was our first visit. To say we were surprised with the response is an understatement. The server said that it was like that in the in the packet. We quickly realised that most of the food we were eating was probably just reheated from frozen foods. This made us look very differently at it all and most of it could be brought from Costco at a fraction of the price.
I have just paid the bill and currently awaiting my change as they put service on the bill even though there were only two in our party. And table was not cleaned before we sat down and servers were not wearing masks properly not covering their noses. Oh and I am still awaiting the water I ordered at the beginning! Don't think we will be back.
Still waiting looks like not getting my change or water. That's what they think! Seemed when I asked for my change and asked me what my bill was. Considering the service has been crap and they added a service. Why would they think I don't want my change back! Still not water.

Went for a meal post lock-down, assumed that the restaurant would be following social distancing guidelines, There was nothing in place whatsoever,
1. No personal details taken
2. No social distancing at the entrance
3. No sign of any hand sanitiser anywhere
4. No social distancing of tables
5. No social distancing by staff or customers
6. Staff and customers walking up and down constantly between the tables
7. Staff congregating by the tables.
The restaurant was very busy (6.30pm Sat) and they seemed to have squeezed as many people in as the restaurant could hold. The staff made no attempt to social distance, squeezing in between tables, bumping in the back of my chair on several occasions. most of the time we had at least 3 staff standing witin touching distance of our table, and there was a constant stream of staff and customers passing within inches of our table the entire time we were there.
I had a salad, which I waited 40 mins for, the salad tasted ok, but less than 30 mins later, I developed, stomach cramps and diarrhoea which went on throughout the night, and had a painful abdomen the next day.
The decor is nice, and the food looks good, but it is overpriced. The drinks are also very overpriced.

Hello Mimmy K,
Thankyou for taking the time to notify us of your feedback following your experience with us.
First off we would like to sincerely apologise if you feel staff were too close to you. All of our staff wear facial masks/shields and sanitise or wash their hands regularly throughout service, in some instances it is not possible for staff to be a certain distance from customers, such as at the door when we are asking if you have booked and what your details are, or when we are bringing food to your table. We have taken this comment on board and have reminded staff of social distancing when not serving customers directly.
To say we have ‘nothing in place whatsoever’ is an unfair statement. We have signs throughout the building reminding customers to keep distance, as well as signs reminding customers to use hand sanitizers (of which are located all around the restaurant), and a final reminder to wash your hands. When presented with the bill customers receive hand sanitizer sachets to their table. Our table layout has been approved by the local council as we sought advice as to how we can social distance, we assure you all of our tables are socially distanced within government guidelines.
We do apologise for your wait on food, as you have mentioned you dined with us during a busy Saturday which can delay food times. This is usually relayed to customers by their server, we apologise if this wasn’t the case for you. All of our food is prepared fresh so I don’t presume it would have been our food to cause your stomach cramps; food poisoning takes 48 hours to develop. This sounds more like an intolerance to something you may have ate or drank. Unfortunately we can’t avoid this if we haven’t been informed of any allergies/intolerances.
Kind regards
Management

Great service and nice environment - unfortunately let down by the quality and attention to detail of the food. King prawns served raw/blue; the same main courses ordered - one came with vegetables, the other without.
Both issues were quickly resolved, and I hope our experience was an exception as this venue shows great promise.

We visited on what would have been our 5th visit to Deroka. On two occasions we experienced the two course lunch menu which we loved. On another occasion we came back early evening and asked about this menu ie 2 course lunch and the waiter made it happen . On the fourth occasion it was the dine in to help out with no special menus obviously which we understood so we had the main menu which my wife had chicken Shish but replaced rice and vegetable sides with salad as it was lower calorie and more agreeable as she is wheat intolerant.
It was therefore a disappointing surprise when we arrived today 9th September at 5:30 pm to be greeted by a rather grumpy belligerent waiter Someone who was present on previous occasions also. My wife asked about having the 2 course menu and we got short shrift from him saying it was past 4pm!! He said it’s evening now not lunch as though we were stupid, desire we explained what had happened before. Even though the restaurant was empty. We sat down and then he asked us about our order and we asked about our main meals being accompanied by salad and not rice and veg to which he refused to do. I asked why and explained it had been done previously and he said it was not possible and could not be done. He refused to accept it had happened previously and as a result we left disgusted with appalling service. He clearly was not focussed on customer service and did nothing to stop us leaving but as I left the premises him and all other staff stopped doing what they were doing to watch us leave with no response. We went to another restaurant and will now no longer ever go to deroka again .
Goodbye and good riddance to bad customer service.
Regards
Ian Clarke
