I booked for 10 people to celebrate my wife's birthday, on arrival the car park was full and we had to wait for nearly 10mins to park, the restaurant was extremely busy with customers waiting for their table or a takeaway. Once seated it took ages to get poppadoms and a round of drinks, the drinks order was incomplete, it took 3 attempts to get the drinks order right, and then the waitress spilled a drink over one of us, no apology and no replacement drink until we complained to the manager!! Eventually we managed to get the right drinks and ordered our food. This was even more of a joke than the drinks, meals turned up in dribs and drabs, items missing, meals missing, dried out nan breads, luke warm dishes and dishes arriving so late some had nearly finished before all the meals were on the table. The food was good but the service was terrible, it appears that the restaurant would sooner over book than turn people away, my advice would be don't book a table at busy times like Saturday evenings

We decided to treat ourselves to an Indian meal and had heard great reports of this restaurant. Whilst they were only doing takeaways at this time due to lockdown, the food supplied was excellent and the service was friendly. Will certainly be using them again.

I ordered king prawn madras, mushroom rice and onion bhajee and was pleased with the food.
Giving constructive feedback to the restaurant, the curry and rice were excellent, but the bhajee was quite oily so could have done with being dried with kitchen roll or similar. The food was tasty, hot and delivered earlier than expected. I will use this restaurant again.

We ate here as part of a party of friends for a leaving do. The food was good with minimal issues when it eventually arrived however, the service was horrendous. The staff were rude, dismissive and refused replace cold food. A colleague ordered his meal and the rice came out fairly quickly but, he waited over 20 minutes for the rest of it. When staff were asked to replace the cold rice, they just walked off and ignored us. As the staff bought out what little food was ready, they literally shouted over everyone quite rudely and just put it on the table next to a random person who didn’t order it. We ordered drinks throughout the meal and again, the either didn’t arrive, were the wrong drink or the staff just dumped them on the table with minimal effort. Shame really nice food but horrendous unfriendly service.

Appalling! New Year’s Eve
Booked table for 7:30- were not seated until an hour later. This was largely due to overbooking and continuing to accept take away orders out of pure greed.
Eventually managed to order drinks- half of them arrived. Mine in a badly cracked glass. Waited another half an hour. We were still one wine glass short after two hours and were sharing glasses! so I went to the bar to be told it was just coming. We eventually got food at just after 10:00pm. Our table was surrounded by people waiting for tables and take away.
My meal was cold and was replaced with a lukewarm one. My friends tikka was so dry I offered her the sauce from my curry. It was as almost impossible to order more drinks.
It was New Year’s Eve and they were overwhelmed. At 11:15pm everyone had managed to eat something. We paid the bill. No apology for the state of food and service. No discount for crappy food. No free New Years drinks.

We had booked a table, but had to wait in a small space with lots of others, bit too close for comfort. The miserable woman on the bar didn't smile or even acknowledge us, even when we asked for a drink. She didn't say a word, just put warm beer glasses on the bar. Not a warm welcome! We were given popadoms and then asked for our main course order, we had to ask for plates for the popadoms! Then our order was wheeled out on a trolley and put on the table next to us, instead of putting it onto our table - they wheeled it back into the kitchen!! When we got it a few minutes later, it was lukewarm. Shame, as the tastes were great. The plastic tableware was dirty and the toilets were grimy and unloved. There are other lovely indian restuarants in Maidstone, so we won't be returning to this one.

We have eaten at the Mughal many times over the last few years but will not be returning again. Having visited in mid July, having 1st checked out what covid precautions they had in place, we were satisfied that they were complying with all the guidelines...however...when we visited on 5th August I can only say we were disgusted! The restaurant was heaving, with lots of people herded together near the bar, waiting to be seated despite having booked prior to arrival. Unlike our previous visit no customer contact details were being taken for 'track and trace', not a drop of sanitiser in sight, staff were far too up close and personal with customers and then handling cutlery etc. This is a covid hotspot waiting to happen!

Ordered takeaway and was “delivered” 30 mins late and was stone cold ! This is the 2nd time this has happened so we refused to take it . Mughal restaurant have refused to give us a refund and blame their chosen delivery company Deliveroo who don’t want to take responsibility either. We are regular customers but extremely disappointed with their appalling response. Daylight robbery!

Best Chicken Tikka Dansak ever!! Ordered a takeaway and the staff were all lovely. Food was packaged with care and everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. Will definitely be going back for a sit down meal.

terrible!! Tried most indian restaurants in Maidstone to try and get a hot curry. This one promised and we received a curry saturated in oil, I've never tasted such a bad curry. I've had currys all over the world and this is most definitely the worst.
When it came to paying they charged the full price even though we didn't touch the curry. Can't understand the queues to get in.

Went on Christmas Eve as a family pre Christmas get together.
The staff were friendly and attentive.
The food was of a very high standard and we left very satisfied so much so that we are planning to make it a regular pre Christmas fixture as well as a regular occasion during the rest of the year.

We go to this place twice a month. The food and the service is amazing clean and tidy and nothing is to much trouble
And price wise is good value for the money. We have never had a dessert there because you always get real good size portions what ever you order

Lovely big restaurant with a nice car park, they serve tables with a lovely table cloth and serviettes… the service was nice and polite, only bad part was a bit slow considering we have less than 2 hours to eat they open for lunch from 12 to 2pm . The food was really nice, nice portions, the ban bread was delicious. The toilets were clean. You can pay with card and cash. They have a nice bar

I was here a while ago and wasn't wowed but the other day in a very busy Tuesday was great. Wide range of dishes, good service, tasty dishes and the food was cooked really well. I would easily return here next time and recommend !!

Beautiful food and very attentive staff. Would highly recommend.
We had chicken tikka madras, garlic chilli chicken, saag paneer, onion Bhaji, peshwari naan - all made to a very high standard.
