Met a couple of friends here for a lei lunch yesterday, staff welcoming and attentive without being obtrusive. We chose from main menu - food was freshly cooked and delicious’ I recommend the Penne alla Vodka 😊 Good service, good value, will go back again..... and again .... Thank you all.

This is one of my favourite restaurants!
I cannot praise this traditional Italian place enough. Alessandro is the dream owner, he is attentive, friendly and really makes you feel like you are a friend when you enter.
The staff are lovely and the kitchen crew cooking the phone are phenomenal, what they create is fresh and tasty all the time.
We haven’t had a bad meal here, you can pick anything from the menu and feel reassured that it will be delicious!
The food is sublime and the marble cheesecake dessert is one of the best I have eaten - it started off as a special but now it is here to stay!
You will not be disappointed if you go here, you have your table for the whole evening so you know you’re not going to be kicked off of it. You can dine in true Italian style all evening.

Dear owners, I was a member of the 8 that dined at your restaurant last night. Unfortunately there was two of the group that wasn’t 100% satisfied… however this wasn’t everyone’s opinion…. I personally enjoyed the steak well done (my request) and the calamari start and the cheese cake to finish.
There was an over site on the groups part when paying the bill regarding the service charge.
I just want to say the service from the young lady was excellent and she tried to ensure we had a lovely time…….. so I speak for myself I certainly would return the pizza’s did look amazing that I saw being served to another table…..

Last night we picked up a takeaway. The food was VILE!! Seriously, if the chef/s is happy to let food leave the kitchen so bad like ours was, they shouldn’t be cooking food!! My clam spaghetti was laughable! I had three clams, no white wine, no chilli, no garlic! Just dry spaghetti and some chopped up tomato's and three clams. The portion size was something else. It came in the plastic containers and wasn’t even half full?! The starter came cold and without the bread, when I called to question it I got told the starter was fine and that the chef was busy which is why the food was bad and they forgot the bread! The last refused to refund me. We ordered when it opened at 6, busy or not there is NO excuse! My husbands food was freezing so he didn’t eat it as it was seafood! Absolutely SHOCKING! We will never return! During lockdown people try and help out independent businesses, to receive food at such poor quality is just so so bad! Honestly, AVOID this terrible place! Absolutely hideous food and terrible customer service!

I really don’t want to complain I’ve been to this restaurant before and had a lovely meal/time with friends however this time… We were a group of 6 we ordered a sharing antipasti starter and some olives this was about 6 30 and we didn’t receive until about an hour later the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Our mains arrived about 30 mins after starter and where to start… the lasagne although stated on the menu had minced beef seemed to be meatless and was runny and tasteless, the veggie calzone and meatballs were also quite bland but edible my father in law who had the lasagne ate none of it. We ordered desserts for the people who did enjoy there meals of which again another long wait and the torta choc was dull and then asked for bill of which we asked if they could do anything about the uneaten meal… The manager I think came out and tried to explain why the lasagne might of been disappointing and took it off the meal, we were appreciative since we’d mentioned it to a waitress during the meal when we were offered a different meal of which wasn’t wanted. Last time we came we got limocello shots to end the meal which was a nice gesture however this time we feel because we ‘complained’ we wasn’t given these which was real shame since we’d came to celebrate an anniversary and left disappointed spending £240 including service charge rounded up for a meal to go home and snack.

I visited this restaurant on the Saturday night as a group of 4, the food was good, carbonara was a very small portion but the worst thing by far was the wait. We were there for 3.5 hours for two courses, we had our dessert as a takeaway, we couldn't wait any longer and went to the till to pay as they just did not seem to have time to let us pay even.
I liked the food so much that I returned that week on a Thursday lunch when it would not be so busy. There were six people in the restaurant the whole lunch service. It took half an hour for soup and some whitebait as a starter and a further 45 mins for a pizza and a carbonara. I was too embarrassed to complain as I had raved about the food to my partner and said that the service must be better midweek. Soooo disappointed and the minestrone soup was a joke, a tiny bowl of cubed veg in a thin watery tomato base. No traditional pasta, no cheese, no bread that would normally constitute a minestrone. We were charged more than £7 for the soup!!! The whitebait came with a very sad, drooping salad that was inedible. I asked for a vegan pizza and I very much suspect that there was real mozzarella cheese on it. The carbonara was very small and the bacon very pale and undercooked.
I really hoped for an Italian feast as I love Italian food but so disappointing.

I ordered 2x patate a cubetti (roast potatoes) and paid over £10 for these yet they arrived hot but I don’t think they could have been more over fried and burnt if they’d tried, they had a acrid burnt taste and were so over cooked the middle had no potato. I have always had a good experience with these previously so don’t let me put you off but don’t order them for takeaway. I swiftly binned these as they were completely inedible.

A great option. I went in tonight for a takeout being in Kent on business for the night.
I had an off piste calzone (changed some ingredients) with fries. I have to say the service was good, food was really nice and the chap that took my order over the phone and who I ended up seeing when I went in to pick my food up was also pleasant
It must be hard for independent businesses to operate and remain compete either with the covid situation as it is right now. I more than happy in supporting local businesses and this did not let me down.

This is my second visit, my wife recommended this as she has been a few times. We visited on 22nd January. The starter was amazing, as well as the main course. Large portions too which is nice to see. The issue arose when we decided to share a dessert. It was on the specials menu. Lemon curd cheese cake. at no point did it mention it contained nuts on the menu. I am Allergic to nuts and i only found out after taking my first bite. Luckily I did not have a serious reaction. the waitress was very helpful in the situation however at no point did the owner of the restaurant come to find out or a log produced in the accident book which I believe is required. I had the person who make the cake approach me and offer her apologies but I didn't feel enough was done. What if this was serious I could end up in real trouble. I was offer no compensation of this issue other than the removal of the cheesecake from the bill. I am very luckily than nothing more happen to me. At no point was I asked if i had an allergy when I enter the restaurant either. I Feel more needs to be addressed really in this area

This restaurant is a little gem in Maidstone. The staff are so lovely and polite. The food is amazing, home made Italian food. Portion sizes are very generous. Ordered the cheesy garlic bread and caprese salad for starters, followed by Vesuvius pizza and mushroom risotto - both really tasty!
Would highly recommend going here.

Popped in at opening on a Friday evening following a recommendation. To be honest didn't expect it to be busy bearing in mind it's location. How wrong was I, they were fully booked. They thankfully managed too squeeze us in. Pizza was amazing and the desert and coffee really delicious. I'm not normally agreeable to pre added service charges but was happy not to quibble the 10%. Very soon after we started eating the restaurant filled up and people still kept coming. I'll be sure to book for my return visit.

We had a Christmas get together here & as always we were very well looked after by everyone there. The service was friendly & very Italian. The food was tasty & the choice on the menu was very extensive including some Vegetarian & Vegan options. Its never expensive & you always get a complimentary Limoncello. We will always be back & can't wait for the next visit.

Booked a table for two as a friend was visiting from out of town.
Looked for a good independent Italian on Trip advisor.
We were not disappointed.
Welcomed as we entered and shown to a table.
The waitress, Rosie was pleasant and attentive without being fussy, she was knowledgeable about food etc and what she didn’t know she went and asked.
The star of the evening of course was the food, delicious, no question.
It was a great choice as my friend said it was the best meal she had had for ages!
Well done Vesuvius.........we will be back.

Went for lunch today with my parents. We chose 2 courses each a combination of: Bruschetta with tomatoes, chicken breast in lemon butter with salad, grilled sea bass in lemon. Desserts: tiramisu and chocolate torte. Beautifully presented meals, tasty and good service. Well worth a visit. Being a Tuesday lunchtime it was very quiet but I imagine it would be very busy at weekends as the full menu has great variety. Give it a try. So much better than chain restaurants. £10.95 for 2 lunch courses.
