This is a large very open pub with an outdoor bit at the back. This was very smoky so perhaps not a good place to sit if you don't smoke. We sat inside and the menu is a pretty standard pub grub menu. We ordered...More

You cannot beat the Brenchley atmosphere, lovely foo, great drinks and a wicked beer garden. I love that there is another bar out on the terrace serving fresh coffee and cocktails.

Met with group of friends to celebrate 2 leaving work. Friday night so very busy and always noisy as the high ceiling echoes sounds. Difficult to get served as men at the bar seemed to push in and get served first. Ordered Piri piri chicken...More

Came here for drinks for my husband's birthday with some family. Lots of great variety on drinks, they have some new Smiroff flavoured shots which went down well. Some of us had some cheesy chips and although they were OK, the cheese tasted like cheap...More

Went here for some lunch and a few pints with a mate last Saturday. Decided to go for the tuna raps with salad and tortillas. For £5 it was amazing, seemed to take an age to eat as was that big and tasty. Waiting time...More

Hi Vicky. No need to book at The Brenchley, just walk in. We have plenty of tables and a very large heated outside area :-)

Description
Now open in Maidstone High Street (opposite The Muggleton Inn). Opened in November 2013, as a traditional free-house, The Brenchley offers a vast range of popular beers, wines, spirits, seasonal & guest real ales, along with an affordable food menu (group bookings welcome), speedy service and traditional pub opening times... And it's proven to be a real hit with the people of Maidstone. Some of you will be familiar with the old NatWest & Kentish Bank building. The Kentish Bank was founded in 1793 and built by John Brenchley. Now the building has been lovingly transformed into Maidstone's newest traditional pub. We have sympathetically restored this beautiful building to its former grandeur, complete with its solid oak columns & panelling, ornate cornice and best of all, its stunning huge glass ceiling dome
