Really rude and unprofessional manager! Didn’t realise the venue opened at 12 - arrived at 11 and the side gate was open - as we wanted to sit outside we wandered round. Was met by the manager who instead of explaining they opened at 12,...sarcastically said that the front door being shut was a big indicator. Very unnecessary attitude as we were more than polite. Won’t be going back!More

When you enter the building you’re bombarded with a list of rules. You can only order at the cashless bar outside. Forget paying with cash because you’re not allowed at the bar inside. They rudely direct you to the outside bar. A lot of customers...were unimpressed at the service also. When arriving at 7pm on a Friday night We were told to order our food pronto. They stopped serving food just before 8pm on a Friday night?! The food is over priced. I had a small salad which is a chicken breast cut into a quarter. Yes, a quarter. I used to love coming to the wharf but the ridiculous outdated covid rules have put me off. A nice venue will only get you so far. Customer service is everything and unfortunately this place has zero. Rude staff. Ridiculous rules, with overpriced and underwhelming food.More

Thought I had found a gem of a place, unfortunately service was a massive let down. Was told I was only allowed to order from a set menu, then after noticed others ordering from the a la cart menu. One of staff smelt strongly of...body odour and other staff didn’t really seem interested in providing a dinning experience. Food was 2 star masquerading as 5 star. Drinks very expensive. To sum up a Toby Carvery in disguise!! There was entertainment that wasn’t advertised, was very loud and drunk diners were allowed to do karaoke and act foolishly. Not really the setting for what was supposed to be an anniversary meal. Would not recommend at present.More

I went to the wharf today and sat on the lovely deck. Unfortunately that was the best part. We were instructed to order by app, with no ability to adapt the meals for taste as you could with a bar person. The app only worked...on the third attempt. Also told I couldn’t have a pint of coke as it wasn’t on the online menu. The food was great when it arrived but the drinks never did. This ruined a lovely lunch. Sort it out. You will lose customers as well as revenue.More

Disappointing visit today. Found this gem of a place between lockdowns. Was so welcoming lovely staff as was the food. Unfortunately there only serving drinks inside so if you want to go outside you have to use QR code!! Come on guys place was empty...and could only pay by card when we only had cash on us. Menu poor no Sunday roast and 4 cocktails 😳. Would have been nice to have been given a menu rather than look on your phone! You will lose customers fast and you e lost us as I was so looking forward to revisiting! ShameMore

I live local and visit the Wharf often with my friends or colleagues for dinner. Last night went to have dinner with my friend, we had food, drinks and dessert and for the third time recently at 9 pm the staff stopped the music dimmed...the lights and started pressuring us to leave through their actions. Seeing as this has happened a lot lately my friend and I checked again online saw that it states it closes at 10pm so decided not to get up and leave whilst we still had drinks to finish and I had not finished my dessert. After seeing we are not getting the message at 9:30pm the waitress came and said sorry guys but we are closed now so you have to leave to which I said but I still have wine in my glass which I paid for and you advertise that you are open until 10pm and in a very abrupt manner she said well as there is only you and another table here it is not worth it for us to keep open so you have to leave. Absolutely shocking. Me paying for my drinks is not worth them staying so I can actually finish what I paid for even more so when they state everywhere it closes at 10pm. Very disturbing customer service and again seeing that this is not the first time I decided it is time to write about it. We will surely not be returning there.More

Took mum for Mother’s Day today. She’s a fussy eater so ordered plain chicken breast with chips which was available on the menu, can’t get much easier. However what come out was a small chicken thigh on the bone. Unfortunately waitress argued it was a...fillet, I had to show her the large obvious bone sticking out. She took it back to the kitchen and said it was the error was the printed menu that was at fault, it should read thigh and they couldn’t offer a breast so basically like it or lump it. Not great on Mother’s Day and they still charged £13 for a small chicken thigh which I thought was overpriced for what it was. Shame as this place is such wonderfully decorated and most staff were lovely.More

I went to the bar and asked for a drink, I was told I could not and would need to order outside. I then went to the outside bar to be told that they do not have the drink I want at the outside bar....I was the told you order using the QR code which I did. The member of staff who brought my drinks out was rude. A friend was having a cigarette outside where there was no signs not to smoke. He came over and said I’m pretty sure you’ve been told on your way in you can’t smoke out here. We replied ever so sorry we wasn’t told. He walked away and said go round there if ya gonna smoke and walked off. Very rude!!More

Food was okay, prices okay. But staff was extremely rude. But still give 5 stars because place is very beautiful.

Not surprised to see the plethora of negative reviews, as sadly this place has gone downhill - and quickly. Phoned up at 18:30 to book a table for dinner that evening but my call wasn’t answered. Tried again, to no avail. Foolishly, I was confident...that heading to a pub that markets itself as food-orientated would still be serving dinner at around 7pm, but alas was informed upon arrival that the kitchen had closed! Could have easily avoided a wasted journey if someone had taken my call (there were, at most, four tables of people so it certainly wasn’t busy!), but alas, here we are. Had a very similar situation a month or so previously, although on that occasion we arrived at 20:05 - so slightly more understandable. That was a weekday and we were told the kitchen had closed at 20:00 - hence me assuming we would have been safe going at 19:00 today. Clearly, not the case. Having gone here for many years and always enjoyed it, I’m now at the stage where I’ll never return again.More
