Have been there a few times and they always have good service and food. Also like their mocktails. Nice interior design.

I made a reservation a couple of weeks ago for Opuz Kitchen on Saturday night to celebrate a friends 40th. Within the reservation request I had asked for a booth as we wanted to have a special table for the special occasion. We arrived about...2-3 mins before our reservation, at by which time we should see there was a very big queue of people trying to get in - these were people, who had not booked a table in advance. We were rushed through, the maitre de did not ask us for the booking details he merely sped us to a table right a the top of the restaurant which was right near the grill we were literally sat about a meter away from where the food was being prepared and all the steam from the food was circling our table, which made us very uncomfortable as we couldn't relax or really even see each other with the steam circling where we were sat, when asked if this table was OK, we replied it wasn't suitable and asked to be moved. The maitre de insisted we remain seated at the table and he would be back within 5-10 mins to sit us at another table. 10 mins passed and I approached the maitre de to follow up on our table, he insisted he would re-sit us as soon as possible. A further 20 mins passed, no action was taken - and we were just left sat there with steam swirling round the table feeling incredibly hot and uncomfortable - in the meantime two of the booth tables became free - and the people who had been in the "walk in" queue were being sat at the booth tables, which was one of the tables I had specially requested. When I raised this with another member of staff (who incidentally when we had been there before, advised us he was the owners son - however on this occasion claimed not to be able to assist), I was advised that during busy periods they could not guarantee such requests, which I completely understand, but then prioritise those who have pre-booked rather than allocating these tables to people who haven't booked. In the end we actually had to leave!! During the time we were sat down we were completely ignored and at no point did any waitress or waiter come along to ask us if we wanted a drink, I am honestly appalled at the service and I will never return. I have never walked out of a restaurant before ordering - you ruined what was meant to have been a special evening.More
Excellent customer service. The food is delicious and freshly made. Their meat mixed grill is to die for. They desserts also are really good.
Pretty disappointed tonight. We've been here a few times and had a fab night! Tonight very disappointed we had a cocktail and ordered our meal. We finished our meal not the cocktail's and our bill was brought over to us! We would have had more...drinks and I thought this was very disrespectful. You've lost my future business!More
Outstanding! Outstanding. Had this delivered. Best Calamari I've ever eaten. We had chicken wings and lamb cutlets with rice, salad and bread. They had also sent houmous ash's a selection of sauces. I'm really fussy but the freshness, flavour and the way the food was...cooked was perfection. Can't wait to order again.More
I went out to celebrate a family friends 62nd birthday with my two daughters and the food was amazing, The service was faultless, we had an amazing waitress. The staff were absolutely fantastic, the care and attention to detail was incredible. Mahmut, you made our...evening special. It was lovely to see you again. Thank you Mahmut and Basil for a great evening.More
Opuz Kitchen is one of a number of restaurants directly opposite the entrance to Watford’s new civil and family court in King Street. Following an aborted hearing it seemed churlish not to stop by for lunch. It’s a bright garish sort of place with a...very competitively priced two course set menu from which I chose cacik supplemented by a generous portion of flatbread followed by a lamb stew with rice. I concluded with a chocolate bombe as a dessert and a double espresso. Service was ultra-efficient.More
5 star service from Mahmut, all we had to do was call his name and he appeared 😊 birthday lunch for one of my girlies, food lovely as always... bread and dips plentiful... 2 for 1 cocktails a bonus 👍
Just a casual walk by before the Rugby! Sat down and swift attention. Very smart trendy surroundings with plenty of staff to tend to our needs. Drinks , starters and mains did not disappoint . In fact excelled in every way presentation, taste and service....Well worth a visit and will return. Thanks Ali.More
Our food orders came out wrong, the mains came before the starters , some of our food and drinks never came at all. Our booking was not in the system despite receiving confirmation emails. The food itself is nice but that is not enough, our...night was ruined and when we sent a complaint in we received no reply. Very disappointed.More
What a mess. We haven't been here for a few months and the service and food used to be good but this experience pretty much ruined our evening. We did book and asked for a booth. Shown to a table next to a vacant booth....That was shortly filled by a group that was soon eating their starter before anyone had approached us. Twenty minutes passed. It wasn't a full restaurant so no excuses there. We stood up to leave and in response a waiter apologised and offered to take our order. Big mistake by me but I decided to order rather than leave. Service didn't really improve. I asked for the bill when our main was delivered, that didn't happen. I asked for the bill minus the automatic service charge after we'd finished our meal. Nope. Got a bill with a service charge on it. Asked for a bill without that and finally got someone to take notice and let us get out and go home. Service was completely random, no leadership, no managers around, something has gone wrong with this place. We won't be coming back.More
Warm welcome from Basil, lovely atmosphere. Our server Aban lovely to chat with so friendly about drink and just stuff in general. The cocktail just great, the food lovely, yummy and fresh, no space for pudding, but that will have to be for another day....for sure a good lunch time visit.More
Have visited a couple of times before but will not be visiting again… - waiters dusting the overhead lights onto dinner plates on surrounding tables while we were eating at 6pm - a dead bug sat on top of my rice!! - slow service with...no real interaction except to take your order and clear away - failed to tell us that we could have another cocktail as we had ordered one and it was 2-4-1 - very small portions for the price. Really disappointed, it used to be clean, the food used to be fresh and tasty and service had a smile. Standards need to go back to the level they were when first opened.More
Atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely, you could talk and still enjoy the music. Service was a little slow and waited a while to order. However, the food was absolutely amazing. Fresh and tasty...really lovely and defo would return.
Very expensive and overpriced for what you got. Service good but just not worth what you pay. Overall ok but would not be in a rush to return. Drinks are very expensive too.
