My other half and I decided to try the Steak Inn (St Albans Road) this weekend and all I can say is that we were extremely disappointed with it. We rang up to book a table and they said we didn't need to... so we walked in, we were the ONLY couple in there for about 15 minutes, and considering... More

I visited at what I thought would be peak hours, yet there was only myself and two other people in the restaurant. Like in other reviews the place got very smoky when two steaks were cooked! I don't know what would happen if the restaurant was full. The waiter was pleasant and explained the menu, but FAILED on the basics!... More

Got to the restaurant at 18:30 on a Tuesday evening. We (a table of 3) were shown to a table and explained how the menu works. The waiter explained that with the steaks, you pick a steak and then any two sides that are on the menu. We ordered drinks and then chose our meals. I ordered the 200g sirloin... More

Steak cooking onto a hot stone on your table! An interesting idea but ... it means you need to eat at a pace to keep up with the steak being cooked, else it would get overlooked /burnt. It also means there is an unusually large amount of cooking smoke within the restaurant. The "wine" was just alcohol-flavoured water :) However... More

Had a really nice meal, at first wasn't sure by the decor in the restaurant and the concept of grilling my own steak, so we went safe and ordered chicken and rib eye steak. It was fantastic and good size portions of meat and sides, next time I would definitely try a more adventurous meat such as Buffalo, venison, ostrich... More

We had a dinner last name night and what an amazing exotic meat list they have got! We had Venison & Camel steak served on Lava stone (420oC hot stone), where you cook you steak yourself on your table. The restaurant was Clean, host was very polite, ambiance and acoustics were perfect too. Opens from 6pm so we went at... More

Superb food and the atmosphere was brilliant our host was really great and talked so up beat and positively about how the food is cooked. When our food came out sizzling on the volcanic rock the smell was divine and our steaks were so tasty a brilliant night and worth it. We got a great discount with our taste card... More

Oh dear, this might be the worst restaurant I have ever been to. We got a Groupon deal which stated two courses including scoth fillet steak and two glasses of wine. On arrival the restaurant was not very busy, I get the impression that it never is. We were greeted by a friendly waitress who told us that the scoth... More

The Steak Inn restaurant in Watford is a brilliant spot for red-blooded Britons to indulge in superb red meat with a real difference. At The Steak Inn, all 28-day aged, locally sourced steaks are flash-grilled in the pan then brought sizzling to your table on a superheated volcanic stone to carry on cooking until you decide your steak has reached it's peak. Steaks are offered with a variety of handmade rubs and sauces, or choose chicken fajitas or vegetarian options or if you're feeling adventurous, try a wild food steak from Africa or down under: kangaroo, kudu, springbok, impala, blesbok, wildebeest, eland or even camel. The masculine dark wood and scarlet décor suits the menu perfectly - a smart, relaxed setting for some simply excellent food.
