Fabulous Sunday lunch the roast beef was outstanding, the roasties sooo crispy and fluffy, my wife snd Mum both had the lamb and both said it was delicious. Run by a lovely family this is Watfords best kept secret dining venue, I suspect that secret...will soon be out!More

I booked the Prince George for somewhere to eat a roast before heading to Harry Potter world without any expectations, am I am so glad I stumbled upon it! Super quick service and the roast was delicious, we had the lamb which was probably the...best lamb I have had with a lovely mint sauce. Delicious gravy and potatoes too. We had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was so light, not heavy at all so perfect to have after a heavy roast. My only criticism would be that the pudding could have been a bit warmer and more sauce, but still a delicious pudding! We ended the meal with a very friendly chat from who we think is the owner. So all in all a great place to go!More

Visited on new years eve so wasn't sure we'd get a table. Customer service was amazing, as was the food, love the south African twist. We'd go back if in the area, so definitely worth a visit

This is a family friendly restaurant / pub. We enjoyed our meals on the first night so much we then booked to come again o the Saturday night. The pub is nicely decorated inside and had a lovely calm atmosphere and the food was fantastic...everything was made fresh and was reasonably priced. We were 2 family's of 3 5 adults one child one of the adults has disability's. The staff were lovely and attentive couldn't ask for more. Next time we are in Watford we will definitely be reserving a table.More

We booked a table, having read reviews. It didn't disappoint. The beef was succulent and tender, vegetables cooked to perfection, if I had to pick a negative I would say that for me the red cabbage was a little sweet. The gravy was fab. We...were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived and the staff were attentive but not overpowering, Will we be back. definitely! Highly recommended.More

Went for Sunday lunch, first time since new owners. We were a bit disappointed with the roast menu, my friend particularly, she really wanted lamb, it was a Christmas roast menu - turkey, gammon and beef. I was quite happy with beef, which we both had....It was very tasty, but we felt it could have been hotter. We also agreed it was quite pricey for central Watford at £17.50 per meal.More

We traveled to Watford from Cheltenham where we met my son and girlfriend to treat him to a birthday meal. We really wanted to enjoy this occasion, but we felt badly let down. We had to ask for a waitress to attend to us after...waiting 15 minutes. We ordered drinks which did arrive but the order was wrong. That was rectified and we finally placed our orders for 3 starters and 4 main courses. The waitress didn't write anything down which may have caused some of the later problems. We were then approached after a further 15 minutes to say the meals may be a little late as they were very busy. We were then approached again to say they had run out of beef and lamb. We were offered Duck (not on the menu) or the vegetarian option. We chose duck which turned up 1 hour after we had first sat down. Unfortunately, they had forgotten to give us our starters! In fairness the duck was tasty but the vegetables were few and far between. They really don't cost very much so don't spoil the meal for a few pennies. We had booked the restaurant but had been put in the bar. It was extremely noisy to the point of being unpleasant - the acoustics were awful. I really wanted this to be enjoyable but it wasn't. This is a true representation of what happened and we all left feeling very disappointed. ShameMore

Just back from a weekend in Watford visiting HarryPotter World. Stayed close to The Prince Gorge so decided to eat here Saturday evening. A number of tables had been reserved but we where lucky enough to get one. Lovely friendly welcome from the moment we...stepped inside with very helpful staff and a great atmosphere. A good mix of people from those watching a bit of football with a pint to family’s dining and even a dog or two! (And Basil the pub dog who is adorable) The place is spotlessly clean with sanitisation stations dotted about and nothing was too much bother. Food was amazing, fresh, well presented and very well priced. Some mains even included a drink in the price witch was fantastic value. After we finished our food we moved onto cozy chairs and didn’t want to go home. There is even a stunning beer garden at the rear beautifully lit for the summer evenings and for the colder months I’m sure I spotted a basket of blanket if you wish to sit outside. Can’t recommend this place enough if your in the area you must visit and we hope to return again soon. Thank you all for a lovely evening :)More

Just had a family meal here. 4 burgers with drinks. Food was great. But most importantly the service was brilliant. Friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate going back if we are ever in the area. Thank you for a lovely meal.
