Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Sunday roast was delicious however aspects of the service were very disappointing unfortunately. We had issues with drinks and due to waiting, we only had time for one course before we were suddenly asked to leave the table due to another booking.

The Patten Arms is a truly superb British Country Pub and Restaurant, and with a fantastic garden area as well with cracking views of the surrounding hills and fields. The Patten is in the heart of beautiful rural Lancashire, but only a short trip from...the Cities of Lancaster and Preston, and a stones throw from the historic town of Garstang. We enjoyed a delightful lunch at The Patten on April 18th to celebrate Mums 85th Birthday. Chemonie, and the staff at The Patten Arms were first rate in their welcome and service. Our lunch was delicious, and of course a couple of bottles of Fizz and gorgeous puddings secured a delightful time for us all. I can wholly recommend The Patten Arms to you, and we as a family look forward to returning very soon. Phil Lyon.More

We went to the Patten Arms to experience the taster menu evenings they have recently launched. I think they host these nights once every couple of months. We had 8 spectacular courses paired beautifully with various wines. The food was amazing. There wasn’t one course...I didn’t enjoy. The service was second to none. I would strongly encourage you to join one of these evenings as the experience was fantastic. Will definitely go again.More

As a group of 5 we have just enjoyed a fabulous Mothers Day lunch at the Patten Arms. We were delighted to even manage to get a table there as it was booked at short notice and know how popular this spot is! From the...outset (including booking) the service here is incredible. And wow, the food was next level today. We all had Sunday lunches which were so delicious (huge portions with plenty of meat) and the desserts were sensational. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. Just go 😍 special thanks and mention to front of house star Chemonie for making is all feel so welcome and relaxedMore

We turned up for Valentines on the off chance of a table. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive, and a saxophone player provided the music. The food was great and they also allowed us to choose dishes off the normal menu instead...of the Valentines menu. The atmosphere is warm and cosy. All in all, we have found our new ‘go to’ restaurant in this area. We will be back!More

Three of us went for Matt's French Tasting menu. Eight courses, all cooked, presented and served to perfection. The wine served with the meal was excellent. Having attended before for dinner and lunch my wife and I attended a French evening last night consisting of 7 tasting courses. The food here has always been excellent and last night did not disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection and presented well. The waiting...on staff were very polite and attentive without being over bearing. The chef came and spoke with my wife and I and it was nice being able to complement him directly. From the welcome on arriving to leaving feeling contented this was a brilliant evening and we're already looking forward to the next tasting evening, but will be visiting for lunch and or dinner in between. Highly recommend the Patten Arms for its excellent cooked to order food and pleasant staff.More
