We called in last night on our way home. Good selection of beers, nice dining room, good atmosphere, very pleasant staff, great food. I had Steak Pie and my wife had Whale & Chips!! They don't skimp on portion sizes. We had an excellent meal, recommend

This roadside inn is definitely a cut above most, from the moment you walk in to the busy bar, being shown to your table in the dining room( book as we have never seen it quiet) reading the extensive menu and the equally varied "specials board", orders taken by very attentive girls..and then the food and drink...perfectly cooked, nicely presented... Came here with my husband and 2 children, my eldest (aged 10) doesn't enjoy kids meals, usually still hungry afterwards, so ordered her gammon steak..... She couldn't eat it all... It was massive. The meals were lovely. Would recommend.

Only time we are disappointed is when there are full and have to go somewhere else. Good quality pub food with generous portions and reasonable prices and great friendly service - never disappoints. Would always try and book if it's a Friday or Saturday night.

Come here with family a few times a year as its fairly local. Always have the steak pie with chunky steak free from fat like most places. A nice rich gravy and loads of veg and chips. Huge portions never enough room to try their desserts. Parents always happy with their meals, Dad usually gammon mum chooses a special.

We were late on our drive from Belgium to Scotland, and were looking for a pub stop-over for our wee motorhome, with food. The Patten Arms had a great car park, handy for the M6, good beer and food, and most of all, a nice welcome. We will be back. John and Tracey
