We had dinner on a Sunday evening. The menu had a great variety, including vegan and gluten free, with very reasonable prices. We were served in record time, but the food was tasteless, the onion rings tasted as fried with old oil. The stake was good but the vegan falafel was oily. They have a lovely family environment and the... More

Wow that was a fantastic meal Four adults and two eight year olds shared two chateaubriands with all the trimmings and it was cooked to perfection We added an extra chips and onion rings but it was all amazing The service from bar and serving staff was excellent as expected and atmosphere great A fantastic way to end my birthday... We visited The Borough to celebrate our one year anniversary and have only been home a few hours and miss it! We stayed in room 8, a luxury double, which was absolutely gorgeous. After having our bags taken to our room by a very smiley, although he seemed a little rushed, member of staff (who appeared to be the manager)... More

Having stayed at the hotel, and being impressed by it, we decided to eat here. The service was very poor indeed, almost passive aggressive in nature and the place was not that busy. My starter was awfully bland as well as barely tepid. I did point this out to the staff but they seemed disinterested at best. The main course... More

Came here with my family and had steak with peppercorn sauce. It was the best I have ever had. Good service, reasonably priced and even got a free drink at the end of the night.

Came on Sunday night for the roast and it was delicious! Great upgrade on wine deal. Only tiny criticisms include the roasted red pepper and garlic soup could've done with a little tweak in the ratio department and had a bit more pepper to garlic and £2 for an extra two slices of bread seems a tad excessive. The roast... More

I always visit here when in Lancaster as it has to be one of my favourite pubs. Always a good range of beers available (some brewed here) and I usually end up having the fish and chips which are always excellent.

We went as a group of friends for lunch on a Saturday. But didn't have a great experience the food and even drinks took ages to come. Then when the food finally came my boar and chorizo burger was very average. The only redeeming feature was the slightly over priced chicken liver pate.

Actually give you fresh orange juice when asked which is uncommon. Bread and burger were slightly over done I thought although I'm no chef obviously. Mentioned it in passing and had 25% off the burger's price. Good service. Quality food apart from that.

Visited here for lunch, the real ale was well liked by hubby! The food was a little disappointing fish and chips was 3 fish goujons? The chicken and bacon salad sounded nice, so plumped for that, however, despite checking on menu for anchovies and seeing it didn't have them - ordered it, it came with anchovies and therefore that ruined...
