We had 40 minutes to spare before trains home and enjoyed an excellent beer in this charming pub. There was even talk of allowing more time to try others on the next trip.

I've been here before, many times, and loved the place. I'm writing this at 19 .40, and it closes at 20.00. Snitty barman, bereft of charm, has called last orders, all beers are off, and there is a red chord acroos the entrance. He has...grudgingly allowed me a glass of dry white wine, as long as I sitboutside. Clearly a graduate of the Doncaster School of Charm. Not. Tonight, the customer is always wrong. Thanks for enhancing the start of a long journey....More
Good afternoon, thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review, such a shame that you didn’t get round to leaving us a positive review on your, quote.. “many other times” when you “loved” our venue. Our closing procedures are the same...More
The screens across the bar are really poor for communication, no garnish for the G&T & charged full price and if you step one foot outside plastic glasses required 🤨
Makes waiting for your train a pleasure. You might even miss the first one by lingering for a second taster! It would be worth it.
Hi John, thanks for your review it’s very much appreciated. I myself have missed many a train and had to pass an hour working my way through the selection of beers.🙄🍻 Best regards, TDA
First visit, so much to drink and many styles, par keeper knowledgable, great little place could and will spend a day there. First class.
Good pub but unreliable with opening times; on Google it mentions an 8pm closing, at the door, a 7:30pm closing, but then when you arrive before that, the doors are already locked up.
A little unusual, but I like it Stumbled on this by accident, situated on Platform 3b the former buffet room, which has stood empty for 18 years Although this was a buffet room it looks and feels like an old school traditional pub This is...a very small pub probably smaller than a lot of people's living room, it is bursting with character I had a half and my friend had a pint and it was reasonably priced It's nice and quirky and the next time I go to Doncaster I'll be sure to visit Cheers 🍻More
Thanks for visiting and your comments. Have a great Christmas and we’ll see you again soon… strike’s permitting 🤞🏽🍻
Over £7 for a small can of beer to take away. There is profiteering and then there is extortion, this place is the latter. There is a Merlin Hungry Horse pub in the Frenchgate centre, just a short covered walk away.More
Good afternoon, we would be very interested to know which can you purchased as I can 100% guarantee that you couldn’t find ANY of our products in the nearby ‘Hungry Horse’ We have several QR menu codes within our premises for you to scan and...More
An absolutely lovely bar based in the Train station. Lovely staff and fabulous beers. I totally recommend a visit here if you have time for a pint
Awful beer and a rude landlord. Given the current climate you’d think politeness would be the preferred approach.
Afternoon Matt, could you please elaborate on your visit as the above comments don’t give me much to go on. Hopefully I can then get to the bottom of the matter. Regards TDA
Staff are always very friendly and helpful and there is always a great selection of beers. It’s well worth the visit, support local!
Hi Jordan, thanks for the support and your kind words, it’s very much appreciated. See you again soon👍🏽🍻 TDA
Always hope for at least half an hour between trains in Donny. Chance to call in for a pint. Small, but always somewhere to sit. Great beer. Good value.
Hi David, certainly more than half an hour if the last week is anything to go by. Thanks for your support and comments, they’re much appreciated 👍🏽🍻 TDA
What a great ale House , not what I expected on a station platform, this has to be one of the best kept secrets. It's nicely finished and friendly staff who certainly know their beer/lager. Great selection as well , Very impressed
Hi Pete, so glad you enjoyed your visit. We pride ourselves on providing as much information as we can about our products so it’s always nice when that’s appreciated. See you soon👍🏽🍻 TDA
Have loved this place since it fueat opened and this week is it's 5th birthday. Happy birthday To The Draughtsman on Platform 3b, Doncaster Railway Station. Friendly staff who know a great deal about craft beer and even brew their own. Great selection on tap...and so many exciting beers to try in cans in the fridge. Carry on doing what you do all you wonderful people at The Draughtsman as you do it so wellMore
Firstly, apologies for the delayed reply. Thank you so much for your continued support and we certainly will keep on doing what we’re doing…. as we love it so much👍🏽🍻 TDA
Unexpected stopover at Doncaster station as our London to Wakefield train journey meant catching a bus due to ongoing weekend works. Stumbled across this pub on the platform. What a find. Very small but full of character, great customer service & fantastic choice of real...ales including porter which was really enjoyable. An excellent hour well spent, thank you. We will definitely return.More
