Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The service was fantastic from everyone at the place, loved the atmosphere of the cafe by far my favourite place. Big thank you to Connor,Amelia and mihai for making our stay nice and took care of us making sure that we had everything we needed....Would definitely recommend as a spot if you want to sit and chat over coffee.More

Unfortunately this establishment doesn’t allow for any swaps on their menu which is poor customer service considering my husband is allergic to eggs and was hoping to swap two eggs for a hash brown. I was told this wasn’t possible! Please review your policy for...customers with allergies. My almond latte was brought with no spoon or sweetener.More

The food in this venue is excellent. We had afternoon tea today and it was lovely. Scones are particularly superb. Probably the best finger sandwiches I’ve had - especially the beef. The small taster soup was fantastic and made the food even better. The cakes...were gorgeous and it’s all very well presented. There was so much choice we had to take most of the cakes home. Just one suggestion though - the tea choice is quite limited - for nearly £30 I’d hope to be offered a decent black tea, like Darjeeling etc, but it was just English breakfast or a selection of ordinary fruit teas. If you’re not a coffee drinker it is a bit of an ‘ordinary’ selection. Jasmine tea makes an afternoon tea special. Please also rethink the cups - they don’t suggest afternoon tea - more a cuppa with a sarnie! A shame as it lets down fantastic food. Lovely service and very friendly obliging staff. If I could I would have given 41/2. XMore

We had afternoon tea at The Glass strawberry. We arrived early and didn't have to wait long to be seated even though it was very busy. The staff were all very friendly. We was served by Emma who served us and told us what was...in the sandwich fillings. The soup was amazing, and the afternoon tea was lovely and well presented. We was provided with lots of tea when we asked for a refill. At the end we were given boxes to take home some of the desserts as we couldn't quite finish it. Desserts were lovely but prefer scones without cinnamon but I suppose that's a personal choice. Would highly recommend this place and will return.More

I took my granddaughter for her first afternoon tea. The service we had from Magda was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. The food was beautifully presented and was very fresh. The small cup of carrot & coriander soup was piping hot and gorgeous! My...only criticism would be ( although the cakes were lovely) there were far too many!! Maybe replace a few with a couple of small savouries? Would highly recommend though!! Many thanks xMore

Came to the Glass Strawberry after reading the article in The Times about their fantastic Afternoon Tea. It did not disappoint! The Afternoon Tea was beautifully presented and all high quality food. It was also ginormous so a doggy bag was required. All of the...staff were extremely friendly & the person that served our table, Brianna, was very attentive and made the whole experience extra special. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place - the rest of the menu looked great too so we will be back to sample some more.More

My sisters and I had an afternoon tea date for a birthday treat. The service was very attentive and friendly. The tea, served in a delightful pot was warm and strong. The food simply made it! Displayed in a wooden shelf, the sandwich selection was...tasty, the cakes were beautifully decorated and the scone with a hint of cinnamon or all spice was delectable. Our server Brianna was very attentive throughout. 10/10 will come back for sureMore

Absolute hidden gem for Doncaster. We’ve been twice in the last month for Afternoon Tea. The Christmas selection was sparkly and festive and the January selection was equally as scrumptious! We we offered a choice of inclusive teas and we also decided on extra glasses...of fizz. We’ve tried the mocktails and the truly indulgent milkshakes. We found easy parking just over the road, I would allow a couple of hours. That topped with the cosy atmosphere and friendly and attentive staff (we were looked after by Bri on our last visit), we will most certainly be visiting again!More

Nice place, good service, nice clean breakfast but not the cheapest. Having said that I would like to go back for lunch and try something different.

Absolutely delicious afternoon tea date - plenty of scrumptious sandwiches, splendid soup and cracking cakes! Very warm welcome from the team and very cosy atmosphere tucked away in Doncaster city centre. Would highly recommend this and keen to try out the full menu as everyone’s...food around us looked equally tasty and beautifully presented. Looking forward to visiting again - thank you 😊More

There is a sign on the door or inside the café if you have a chance to pop in, otherwise the only days they will be shut are the 25th, 26th and the 27th, with extended opening hours on a few Sundays around this period.😊
