We are really fortunate to have this place really close by so can walk to it easily for a nice summer walk. Today we decided to nip in for lunch which for us as a family can be rather difficult with my wife having coeliacs disease and not everywhere catering to a gluten free diet (or not educated on the issue). To our surprise they were able to offer gluten free paninis (in generous portions). They also seemed knowledgeable when it came to customers with coeliac disease, knowing about issues with cross contamination etc with their ice creams and again alternatives were available from the freezer to overcome this. There are lots of flavours of ice cream to choose (definitely recommend lemon meringue and Jamie dodger) We had a nice couple of hours here allowing our children to play on the play areas provided with them also going on some of the paid for activities. The fellas running the paid for ride areas were so friendly with the children, encouraging and helping them on the bungee trampolines. Their manner with the children was really good to see and made our stay more enjoyable. All facilities were also very clean and everything well distanced to ensure that all customers were able to keep their distance. We look forward to returning again as always.

An amazing place to go for an ice cream or hot drinks. They never run out of ice cream flavours, I could go here every day for a month and get a different flavour. Away from the ice cream you can also sit outside where they have spaced out seating for families. The ice creams have immaculate flavours and you will never have a boring experience eating one of these masterpieces. The portion sizes are amazing since every time i have visited here, the ice cream are always down to the end of the cone which is perfect for the price of £2 for a scoop. They also have a mini golf course which i havent tried yet.

The ice cream is absolutely adorable. All varieties are nicely presented with "bits" of real biscuits and fruit on top. Dog owners can sit and huddle up together in a separate cottage. Why not full marks? Because you never seem to be able to get some of the bits on your scoop of ice cream. Pricey too.

Hi there, thank you for your 4* review. Sorry you did'nt get any bits on your Ice cream, we always recommend if you are not satisfied with anything whilst you are here, to tell us there and then so that we can make sure you leave Happy, saving you the time and effort of putting your disappointment out there on social media. Please note Our Ice Cream has been £2 per generous scoop for 5 years now and will definately see a price increase this Summer.

On first entering, the Cowshed is modern warm and welcoming. A large space, thoughtfully decorated. My second impression after finding our seats was that it was a noisy space. Trolleys and clanking dishes reverberate in the space. We found our food lacking in flavour. The peas on my dish seemed to have been sitting around for some time and the fishcake was bland. My husband found his chips rather tasteless, though they looked good. The ice cream bar appeared very popular. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would try another meal there just to be sure they weren’t just having an off day.

Thank you for reviewing Sunnybank and we are delighted you liked the decor and found our team helpful and friendly, I’m so sorry you found the food lacking in flavour. Our fish cakes are made by a fishmonger in Grimsby, now you have pointed this out, I will cook one to try as it may be that he didn’t season them as well as usual, Thank you for bringing this to my attention and I do hope you give us another try some time. We always recommend to our customers if they don’t like something to tell us at the time of there visit rather than on social media then we can change/refund the meal at that time ensuring everyone leaves happy xx

Went twice to Sunnybank over the bank holiday. Such a lovely place with lovely food and brilliant ice cream. Met with friends on first visit and we got food and coffee from the stall outside. Then we took our dog and treated him to doggy ice cream. The staff were really good as ice cream queue was really big so pointed us to a smaller ice cream stall where we did not have to wait and she went off and got us some doggy ice cream so we did not have to wait- thank you! Lots of activities for kids as well. Lovely local place will go back!

We had a fantastic time at Sunngbank for my sons birthday party. From first booking the party to leaving the staff were all amazing and really helpful. For the price the children all got a massive hotdog or burger with chips, ice cream, juice and use of the inflatables and play area. The staff even took care of arranging the candles and giving my son his birthday cake so as we could take plenty of pictures I would highly recommend having a birthday party here.

My eldest daughter phoned to see if they were open as on the website it said they were closed, she was told they were open today. I took my 3 daughters to the cafe for a treat only to find that the deli side was not open. I would have thought that the person on the phone would have mentioned the fact that the deli was closed. We could buy drinks, cakes, ice-cream or food from external vendors. The staff served our hot drinks in take out cups even though we were sitting in. All the customers in the cafe had their drinks in actual cups, this really annoyed me as my daughters were aged 14, 16 and 23 so the need to use paper cups wasn’t necessary. Needless to say that I would definitely not recommend this venue as staff were far from a-tentative and seemed to not really be interested in our custom. We had our drinks then left, going down the road we called in at Walkers Nursery and went to their cafe. Staff there were exemplary, they couldn’t do enough to help their customers. I would definitely go there again.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy your visit, we have been so busy over the Easter Holidays and so short staffed we had to do what we could manage best for the majority - this been Burgers, Fries and Hot Dogs and so had to leave our Deli counter closed, I am sorry you were not told this before your visit and not offered Your drinks and cake on crockery as everyone else inside. If you would like to contact me Rebecca I can guarantee you will enjoy your next visit, if you were to try us again. I’m glad you went on to enjoy Walkers, there new Cafe is fabulous isn’t, Thank you again for your review and just so sorry you didn’t enjoy your visit, but hopefully you will give us another try.

Our grand daughter loves it here - we have to get her there for opening so she can watch the slides etc inflate and get a blue wristband ! After a couple of hours on the slides, bouncing castles, playground, mini wheels, we then all tuck in to the fabulous ice cream where we are so spoilt for choice refuel, she then generally goes back to the playground before tackling the trampolines Everything here is very competitively priced and should be within most budgets. The hot take away food, sandwiches, coffee, soft drinks will not burn a hole in your pocket - the wine is just £6 for a large glass full and the beers are very good value And parking is free ! It does get very busy in the school, summer holidays which is testament as to why it is such a great day out.

Wished we had known about this place before as we only live in Auckley, went for coffee and scone ( preferred toasted tea cake ) but the scone and jam was excellent. The interior of the cafe was lovely with excellent service, the wife spent some time looking at the clothes at a small boutique which she enjoyed. Love the settees and open fire. Now the real reason for this review is to beg the owner please please start doing evening meals, with a chef employed fresh local ingredients we will be first in the queue.

Had my sons 5th birthday here, and all the kids absolutely loved it. The kids got 2 & 1/2hrs on the inflatables and afternoon tea with icecream, it was brilliant value for money. The food was a lovely spread, and there was plenty to go arround. The staff were very attentive, and kept coming over and checking everything was ok and ensured the childrens juices were topped up. I’d definately recommend for parties and no doubt we’ll book again in the future.

Our first trip to sunnybank was lovely, I went with my mum and 3 year old and we had a lovely sandwich and chicken wrap in the cafe and my son had a little sandwich and snack bag full of fruit and a bag of crisps. It felt a little over priced but the food and service was lovely so it wasn't an issue. Having had such a lovely time we decided to go again for lunch. We arrived at 12pm to be told there was no food being served and that only the burger van was available. I am a personal trainer and the thought of eating something dripping in grease turned my stomach and I also didn't want to feed my son something so unhealthy. We left hungry and upset as my little boy was looking forward to a fun afternoon there. Its safe to say we won't plan to come again for lunch as we were very disappointed!

What a shame you didn’t read the menu and see all the healthy salad box and sandwich selections available from the outside Barn Grill, In fact what a shame you didn’t just ask someone at the Grill, it would have been a lot quicker than writing such a mean dishonest review for a millions of people to see. As if the hospitality industry hasn’t suffered enough without people like you making things up, shame on you!

First & last time visiting here. The overflow car park has many dangerous obstacles when walking to the venue, I.e. half planks on the ground. The food is awful - especially the overpriced tasteless salad. The chicken that I had with it was terrible. I didn’t like the taste at all. It went in the bin. I was also over charged by £3.50, due to it all being added up in the ladies head! The rides are for the older children. Not much for a 2 year old to do! My 2 year old also ended up with oil marks on his clothing from the park area! Not very happy at all. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. It is overpriced for what it is. Try to cater to the younger end too. By the way some idiots had their dog in the play area. Surely this is not allowed. I should not have to risk my child being bitten by someone else’s dog because the owners think it’s good fun to let the dog play on the park!

This weekend gone was to have been our third visit here. Previously we had enjoyed great flavoured ice cream. Unfortunately, this time we did not make it to the front of the line ( A very popular place no doubt about it ) The hygiene awareness just was not there and we had to leave without buying anything. First, and this is controversial were a couple of builder type blokes and their families all not wearing masks. And I say "builder types" to imply that they looked fit, healthy and in no need of avoiding the mask general rule..... Subjective and, the fact they were not asked to wear masks or provide seasonings would not have deterred us. Then, a small girl offered her drinks carton to a staff member who took it off her, placed it in the bin and then wiped her gloved hand on her top before continuing to serve. I ma not sure whether one member of staff was meant to be doing the money exchange part and the other two were serving ices but, what appeared to be the person most likely to be in charge of the three went to fetch more ice cream tubs and the other two then were taking money, giving change and then serving ices without changing gloves. I thought at first they may be wrapping serviette around the cones which, when we got closer, I could see they were but by way of picking the cones up by hand first and only then wrapping the bottom of the cone with the serviettes. Thus, even if the bottom had been picked up from the start, there was still plenty of contact from gloved hands to cone to transfer infection. I go to town on this descriptor such that the establishment owner might pick up correctly on what is not going correctly in order that measures can be made. It is easy for some folks to think that wearing gloves is good enough but this is not so.

We visited today and had a lovely lunch at Sunny bank. We opted for an egg sandwich and jacket potato which were lovely. We then shared a few different flavours of ice cream which were tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s useful that there’s an allergens list on a large board and they also have a few different flavours of vegan ice cream which is nice to see. My toddler spent some time on the play area and we also paid £3 for an hours play on the bouncy castles and inflatable slide.
