We were staying at the attached pub, love Indian food so ate here and we were very pleased with our choice. Very tasty starters, sides and mains. Service was attentive and friendly. Chilly in the restaurant but a perfect experience. Would really recommend. Just lovely .

We are very fond of Indian food and this is one of the best Indian restaurants we visit. Always a friendly welcome, good service and excellent food.

Maharaja is situated at the back of a local Chipping Campden pub. There are no frills, no pretenses just very good Indian food served by friendly and attentive staff. Don't expect fine dining but just enjoy genuine Indian cooking at an affordable price.

What can I say, if you want some good quality consistent Indian food then this place will not disappoint. The food is fresh and tasty and it gives Chipping Campden, which is awash with gastro pubs, something different cuisine wise. It also helps that this place is attached to a traditional English pub that serves proper beer.

Visited this restaurant for their special deal on a tuesday night, popadum with chutney/sauces, choice of starter, main course, naan/rice for £9.99, what a bargain!! The food was well present, large amounts, very tasty. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Service was quick. You need to book as it gets busy. Certainly recommend :-)

I read about the Tuesday offer so booked prior to arriving in Chipping Campden. Glad we did because it gets very busy, full up, very quickly. You have choice of starter and main course, with breads and rice included. How lovely to be able to buy a proper pint from the pub to take through with you. So the starters... More

Great food, but busy serving a table with several people. There were others waiting too, don't know what their problem was, there seemed to be plenty of waiters, maybe the kitchen was short handed. Once the whole time someone spoke to us and said they would be with us,but our waiter acted like he could care less, Too bad, hopefully... More

When in England you expect to get great Indian food. Forget this place. It was worse the worst Indian food we have ever had. The bill was also wrong. When we told them they did correct it.

Stayed in the fabulous little town of Chipping Campden for a weekend in September. Found this little gem of a place when exploring the town. It is situated in a nice local pub - The Volunteer. You walk around the side of the pub and in a back entrance. You end up walking past the kitchen which looked very well... More

My husband and I had an enjoyable meal at the Maharaja, at The Volunteer Inn in September 2016. The menu is extensive, and I believe the meat and sauces are prepared separately - this is an easier way to satisfy the masses, but means the meat doesn't absorb the flavours. Dishes were large; food was tasty. Our waiter wasn't entirely... More
