The menu is quite extensive, and the food we ordered was lovely! Great flavours and aromas. The only down side is the service is slow and the waiters didn't seem to understand everything.

We do like a curry if it's good I say it's good if it's bad I say it's bad, this one was lovely. We had poppadoms and the onion tray, lovely and tastey. My hubby had veg samosas and I had chicken chat, these again were very nice not sure about the mango sauce on the side though not to... More

Came here on a Tuesday night which is the night for the special appetizer and entree for 9.99 pounds. Place was very busy and the server was overwhelmed. Food was great when it arrived and we had mixed starter and various dishes.

The place was clean inviting and interesting. We had a choice of table's (we dine early in the evening). By the time we left the place was full. The food was great, huge portions, what we couldn't eat was put into tinfoil dishes, covered, and placed in a bag for us to take home. Waiters were very polite and friendly.... More

The evening before starting to walk the Cotswold Way how better to prepare than have a very good Indian meal. That was indeed what the Maharaja delivered. Being linked to the Volunteer Inn also meant being able to wash the meal down with a great pint of real ale or cider. Excellent value at under £10 per head for two... More

Loved the pappadum starters - really nice and then the main course was the best Indian food we have ever tasted. We had a drink in the pub while we waited - which was also good. Once we were served our food we could understand why it was such a busy restaurant in a small village.

Sadly, some Bangladeshi restaurants do not produce more than a "Western Style" of curry. Heres a good example. Chefs produce magnificent "home cooking" food with incredible taste and fresh spices and herbs (really makes a big dufference). Some restaurants offer them to their clientèle, others, like Maharaja, don't. Maharaja is alone in Chipping Campden so has relaxed and become complacent... More

I eat Indian out all the time. Spending an evening in Chipping Campden and just craving for a curry I decided to give The Maharaja a try, not expecting to get what turned out to be curry heaven. Everything was simply bursting with flavour. I can honestly say I had the best garlic fried rice I've ever tasted, the keema... More
