Travelled for work recently as party of 3, had a fab mid week music treat with La Chanteuse, served yummy pizzas and wine, in venue that reminded me of Parisian cafe whilst treated to a fab performance - stage, tables in front of the stage and we were lucky enough to have booked table which awaited us - came back... I was really looking forward to seeing a live jazz act but this venue disappointed. To start with the venue is small and an odd shape for everyone to view the act. It also didn't help there was a leak in the ceiling on a very rainy night , which closed a large part of the room off with chairs.... More

Free pizza. Enough said. I recently went here with a friend for the happy hour drinks. What is so special about happy hour here is that when you buy 2 alcoholic drinks you get a full size pizza absolutely free! The pizzas are a decent size but if you are looking to have the pizza as your evening meal I... More

Small but comfortable, we reserved a table in advance.... I would consider this essential if you plan to stay all evening as it gets crowded.. We ate pizzas, the house speciality...very good We saw a girl singer called Lucy Hope aka ''The Chanteuse'' who sang old fashioned ballads in French. That sounds eccentric, but she had a great voice, good... More

Last night I attended the afternoon show then returned with a friend for the evening show. The band were great, and we received excellent service from Evie and the very welcoming hostess (whose name I didn't get unfortunately) who greeted us as we arrived. I'm a member and regular so will be back again, just wanted to leave some feedback... More

Went to see band Dirty Bourbon River Show - great gig & had quite a few very good bourbon cocktails. Nice staff too (especially the bar guys!)

i come here quite a lot, the music has become a little brass band like instead of jazz and blues, but none the less, the musicians are talented. The staff are nice and it's a reasonable amount to get in.

I have been going to Matt and Phreds since I was 18 and have had many birthdays there. The food and drinks are just a bonus ontop of what is always a unique jazz filled evening (the tuesday happy "hour" deal is not to be missed!). I also had the pleasure of working with Claire and the team last year... More

If you like jazz book a table as it gets busy. Not a place for any specific age group, I took my niece and daughter - we were surrounded by similar age groups (21-54). Nice vibe, went early enough to take advantage of happy hour - we all agreed it was a most enjoyable night out.

My husband and I call into this club for our night out first night we'd managed for months due to work committements, we got the train into Manchester and started our night out. We desided to start at this club as we had heard about it and thought to gave it a try. We walked in and was deciding on... More

Thank you for your comments. I am very aware of what happened to you in the club a few months ago. One of the bar staff was making a cocktail and the Boston shaker came loose. The bar tender was very apologetic as some of the cocktail did splash onto your top. I do understand how inconvenient you found this... More
