Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lots of table options and outside smoking available I believe. Ordered via the app good variety of food options but would advise not to bother adding drinks and just order them at the bar as if it is busy you will have absolutely nothing whilst...you wait for food. Prices average about £14 the mains but quite expensive for drinks at nearly £11 for a large glass of wine. Lovely food, waitress lovely but a bit behind on details like having to ask for cutlery, sauces and our missing drinks as can’t help but think she may not have checked as much as she was very quick once we asked.More

Lovely place. Called for drinks pre theatre as drinks are extortionate in the Palace Theatre. Warm welcome. Friendly and helpful barman. Had a very pleasant visit.

We prebooked dinner here on our first of a three night visit to Manchester because it was near our hotel. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. It was a Friday evening, payday and a Man City match was on TV that evening. There was...also music playing so the place was very very noisy. Despite having booked and been advised to order at the bar, when I asked to order food the barman had to check with a manager that it was OK, which I thought was a bit odd. In fact there were only three tables eating, with the pub mainly for drinkers. The food arrived freshly prepared and everything was delicious: a taco sharer followed by a chicken katsu burger each, washed down with some lovely IPA. A great meal in a rather unassuming pub. Recommended.More

Apparently once upon a time this was a really good pub. Today, it’s hard to see past the generic ‘bottles in a pine wood cabinet above the bar’ decor, the incongruous fruit machine, the vast number of uncollected empties, and the smattering of tellies left...on ‘cos no one can really be bothered to turn them off. I’m sure this pub does good numbers for GK. And it’s reasonably full at 10.30 on a Friday. But despite the fact I live 4 minutes from here I will never return because I literally feel my life force draining away the longer I sit here.More

Visited while in Manchester, and was met by Naomi and Imogen who were the staff in today. Both absolutely lovely, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and made me very welcome in my first visit in ten years. I used to frequent this pub regularly when I...was young, and pop back very rarely. So glad that I did today. The atmosphere was just as I remembered, the beer superb, and the food (I had the steak pie), even better than before. Parking available down the side street (£5), and a great location.More

This is a pub we've been coming to for years and we always enjoy our visits there. It has changed recently, and unfortunately no longer has the superb collection of Manchester United memorabilia and photos, but it is still a very comfortable place. The service...is fast and friendly, and they have a great range of drinks at reasonable prices.the music is good and they have a super outside area when it's warm enough over the river Medlock. It is well located just off Oxford Road, so well worth finding your way to this traditional Pub.More
