We had a great meal here. Delicious food, good portion sizes and a really lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. It's modern and spacious but still full of character. Very friendly owner who came for a chat and to check we were enjoying our food.

My friend and I had a fantastic time here. Very hospitable, warm and attentive staff, we were made to feel very welcome. The food was fantastic, authentic Indian cuisine with a comforting, homely feel. The interior decor was stylish yet pleasantly familiar. We could tell a lot of effort had been placed into every aspect of the restaurant. We would definitely recommend Hungamaa to anyone looking for a well priced top-quality curry in the South Manchester area.

Been living in Chorlton for a month, and had failed to book anywhere for a Saturday evening supper with very good, and discerning friends.
We walked in and the smell, it was the scent of every amazing and memorable delicious Indian restaurant we had each ever eaten in.
We were not disappointed.
From the lavender gin cocktail starter to the vegetarian platter and crispy lamb, Hagamaa blew our socks off.
We continued to eat, forcing our bellies to stretch to accommodate the plethora of perfectly spiced dishes, we were defeated in the end, and carried two doggie bags home.

Found Hungamaa via trip advisor and love an Indian so had to give it a go.
Went on a Saturday night, it was fairly busy so glad I booked, we were sat right next to the bar so constantly had waiters reaching over us for drinks and inputting orders, and also delivery drivers constantly standing next to our table waiting to collect orders. We ordered the Shanghai mixed starter, it arrived fairly quickly on a sizzling plate, well presented.
We bit into the lollipop chicken and it was completely raw and pink in the middle to our shock. We immediately complained and a new one came, with little apology.
Between this and the mains coming it was 1 hour 10 mins, I ended up asking the waiter who said our mains were accidentally deleted, and there was no apology. By this time we were really losing patience, it eventually came after 1 hour 15mins, however we had to reach out again and ask for cutlery. The main was fairly good, however tainted by the rest of the evening .
After 2 hours we asked for the bill as we were drained, we were charged in full which was disappointing, we felt we should have been offered a discount or free round of drinks however nothing. Due to how busy the restaurant was we didn’t want to create conflict further complain, so we paid and left, with the staff were fully aware of all the issues.
Raw chicken is inexcusable and the long wait time further ruined things, unfortunately would not return which is sad to say as I always try and support local as much as possible.

Sorry the chicken was half cooked.Some chickens are really stubborn and they refused to get cooked in the alloted time however i am glad our staff promptly replaced it for you.
I am also sorry you had to wait for your food. Please visit us next time and i promise you won't be disappointed.

Visited Hungamaa on Tuesday night with a party of 30 to celebrate a friend's birthday. The hosts were extremely gracious and explained and even recommended food for us. Taking a varied set of orders for 30 hungry people (7 kids) is in itself a daunting task. They did it ever so well, without a fuss and food arrived on time. The Lamb Chops and Papri Chaat are to die for. Ordered Lamb Rogan Josh and Lachha Paratha for Mains. The best lamb delicacy I have tasted in a while. It was succulent, tender with a sublime authentic Indian taste of mixed spices, well done Chef. The hosts were happy for us to walk around taking photos and even arranged for a special corner with lovely decor for cutting the birthday cakes. Couldn't have asked more from Hungamaa, you made our party ever so memorable. Would come back soon, highly recommended to anyone who wants to taste authentic Indian cuisine in a family environment.

Located in the vibrant area of Chorlton, "Hungamaa" is a fantastic place for anyone looking for delicious Indian cuisine. Upon arriving, we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff who ensured we were seated promptly. The food was absolutely fantastic, bursting with bold and authentic Indian flavors, with just the right amount of spice. We particularly enjoyed the shared platter starter, which was ample for two hungry individuals.
The prices were very reasonable, especially given the quality of the food and the portions. However, one minor criticism we had was that the restaurant didn't provide jugs of tap water for customers. Instead, we had to keep requesting top-ups and they brought out separate metal cups each time. This was a minor inconvenience, but we feel that it could be easily resolved with a jug of water on the table.
Overall, we had a great experience at "Hungamaa". The food was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was cool and relaxed. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal and great vibes in the Chorlton area.

Hungama is an Indian restaurant in Manchester located in one of the prime area of the city. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience with bright lights and is enough to make you comfortable and feel warm. As soon as you enter the restaurant the staff will greet you with great affection and respect which will make you feel more better and will enhance your experience.
The restaurant menu is simple but elaborate, the restaurant serves wide range of Indian cuisine. Right from the Indian street food to the classical and authentic Indian dishes and is enough to give you a taste of India while sitting in UK and will for sure give you a nostalgic feel.
Let's come in to the food which I tried here:
1)Aloo tikki chaat: This was huge aloo doughs lightly fried for a crisp along with mild masala chickpeas, topped with yoghurt, tamarind chutney and green chutney and garnished with pomegranate seeds. The creamy flavour of yoghurt, the slight spice of green chutney and the flavourful masala chickpeas came really good on palate. The tangy taste of tamarind chutney tingled the tastebuds. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
2) Tandoori non veg platter: This huge nonveg platter with chicken wings, mutton chops, chicken tikka, mutton seekh kebab, every dish served in the platter was well flavoured and spiced. And was extremely well cooked and tender.
3)Dal makhni: This was rich, creamy black lentil dal with a hint of tomato puree and some well cooked kidney beans. The dal makhani was garnished with cream had a mild sweetness and a creamy texture.
4)Methi malai chicken: This was thick and creamy cashew based gravy with sweet and creamy cashew taste. It consisted of boneless chicken chunks and a hint of fenugreek leaves.
5)Mango lassi: This was a simply delicious lassi with a strong mango flavour and a thick texture.
Top five reasons to visit this place:
1)The place has elaborate but structured menu which gives different options to choose from without creating any confusion.
2)The place has different varieties of Indian gravies which makes you nostalgic.
3)The place serves big portion sizes of their dishes, which is enough to fill your stomach.
4) The place has some real Indian vibes which make you feel like home.
5)The place has varieties of platters by which you can have most of their dishes

I traveled past many Indian restaurants to try this restaurant. Being I think well qualified to judge a good Indian meal. This restaurant puts itself up against the rest as a street food Indian & it is truly Indian not Pakistani or Bengali. My experience was sadly disappointing I was hoping to relive the great curry I had In Mumbai years ago, unfortunately there was no comparison only reminding me of the substandard Indian curries I’d had when I lived in Thailand a few years back, where many Indians set up restaurants. I won’t be going past my local haunts any more because they are way better & far cheaper than what was on offer, the food was generally badly spiced & over priced it’s a miss for me the only bright spot was the non bread very light & tasty, maybe just me each to his own but I don’t recommend this restaurant for curry lovers

Actually this is the first time we have had such a feedback. We have an impeccable record for flavourful, authentic and delectable dishes. Our prices are reflective of the highest quality ingredients that we use and our highly skilled chefs however in relation to the current economic climate our prices have been noted by all our guests as an excellent value for money.

Food was exceptional, service to a very high standard, with each member of staff being friendly and professional.
Would highly recommend this hidden gem. Each of the dishes had its authentic flavour. If you want true Indian food then I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The added bonus for us was that they served halal meat, So we experienced the Indian flavours with both the non-veg and the veg dishes.

We took some friends for food having been as a couple and completely blown away by the quality and flavour of the food, as well as the exceptional customer service. The manager is also very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.
The menu is very different to your average Indian but do but do not let this put you off.
Go in, take a seat and enter food heaven.
Cannot wait to return with more friends.

My friends and I visited Hungama tonight to celebrate one of our friend’s 50th birthday. The staff were super friendly, courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were a bit hesitant at first to eat here as they hadn’t advertised if they were halal or not. The waiters & waitresses reassured us that they were as far as the manager coming out to personally speak to us and provide evidence. Our experience of the place was second to none. Amazing delicious food cooked fresh and oh so yummy. The waitresses were very conscious that we had a good time and checked in on us every few minutes. I really can’t fault this place. It’s only been opened in Chorlton for two months but has a great vibe to it. I will definitely be coming back with my family. If you love Indian street food and curries then this is the new place to go to.

Visited 2pm Sunday . Place was surprisingly busy . The service and food was excellent. The portion sizes were larger than expected and the prices lower . All in all great place to try a different variety of Indian/ Chinese food . We ordered about 5 bits to share between 2 of us and it was more than enough . They also offer a buffet on Sunday for about £13/14 per head which I will be trying on our next visit . It’s a shame it’s not in Chorley or I would visit more often . Can’t recommend the place enough . Good honest food . See you soon

We visited this place with family to try new indian restaurent Hungama. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurent and the food exceeded our expectation. Their indian street food is top most . Super delicious food. This will be one of regular places to visit. Good luck team Hungama. 👍

Had a starter & main course, Aloo Chaat starter was excellent but the main meal of Railway Lamb was some of the best food I've tasted, the lamb was so tender & cooked to perfection.
If I had one small complaint it would be the price of drinks...£7.50 for a bottle of Cobra.
That apart I can safely say that the next time in Chorlton I will be returning.

A welcome addition to the chorlton curry scene, Hungema reminded us of Dishoom which is a compliment indeed.
I had the equivalent of a Bhel Puri - large portion and very tasty. That was followed by a Biriani served with raita instead of the more common curry sauce. The falvours were delicate and aromatic - extremely good.
Mrs Reviewer had a Gobi Manchuria and a Masala Dosa: ‘it was delicious’…
Lovely food, lovely people…this looks like a long term good bet.
