In City with many so called trendy bars, The Britons Protection is a jewel. One of a number of authentic pubs in the City. I tried the Jennings and Robinson's bitters. Both were perfect. Excellent taste, perfect temperature heaven. This is a real pub.

Visited over the bank holiday weekend. Beer was good and cold, prices were reasonable and the service was good and efficient. Also liked the decor and layout

.upstairs was arranged for us and good thing as it was very busy downstairs when we got our drinks. Good service, food was catered in, I believe. Judging from all the noises, everyone downstairs was having a blast. Bathrooms...sketchy. Atmosphere, great.

Fabulous pub with original features and it really is like stepping back in time as it's so traditional. Wish more public houses were like this establishment. I went in to meet my husband and his friends post football match and was a lovely sunny Saturday...More

Tiled, multi-roomed boozer though the front room is pretty small. An old Manchester stalwart really which specialises in whiskies. Seems to be in lots of tourist guides so you do get some unexpected groups on sometimes taking photos of their beer rather than drinking it....More
