Laid back cafe with quality grub

You can’t book, so you have to queue. Luckily we only queued about 5 mins then we got a seat at the window. It was pretty packed, so you can’t eat with your elbows sticking out! The food came pretty quickly and was top notch....Really fresh and tasty. The service was good too. Laid back and friendly, yet kept checking to see if everything was ok. I loved that they give you a full condiment rack so you can have whatever you want without asking. Would return!More

Great food, great service!

We arrived at federal cafe and were greeted by Jerusalem who advised we had a 15 minute wait and gave us some menus in the meantime. We then got seated and were kindly treated by another waitress who enquired about allergens and explained the ordering...process. Jerusalem did then coke over to ask us the same, which goes to show how valued service is in this establishment. The food came promptly and exactly as requested. We ordered a stake sandwhich and eggs Benedict with smashed avocado. If I could change one thing, it would be that there is no tissue placed under the steak sandwhich as the juices from the steak were soaked up by the tissue. The food was delicious and we a very nice experience. I just want to thank Jerusalem for making us feel extremely welcomed ad comfortable. We will definitely visit again!More

Best brunch in Manchester.

Amazing place. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly, the service impeccable. Get there early; the will be a line. And if there is - wait in it! You won't be disappointed.

Lovely vegetarian brunch

Love this place in city centre for veggie brunch! Consistently yummy food and great atmosphere. Would have preferred my hot chocolate to be a little more hotter but it was still yummm!

BLACK FOREST FRENCH TOAST YES YES YES

Food was AMAZING! Best French toast I’ve ever had. Also want to say thank you to Katy who was absolutely lovely! She gave us solid recommendations and displayed the best ever customer service!

Laneway cafe experience

An excellent vibe, and one of the most sought after spots in Manchester City centre. Staff that care and delicious freshly made fare add to the pleasure of securing a spot in this place. You don’t have to travel all the way to Melbourne CBD...to get to a Laneway cafe.More

Great early Sunday-morning breakfast

Went looking for breakfast after staying out in town having been to Matt and Phreds the previous night (also great!). The staff were just what you needed on a Sunday morning (in fact on any morning) - just really pleasant and smiley without being fawning....And then had a great breakfast plus two pots of tea which both hit the mark, and space to read my Sunday papers on and listen to great music! Glad I got in before the queues started !More

Awesome experience in Federal Deansgate

The Deansgate branch doesn't seem to be on TripAdvisor and there's also one on Oxford Rd as well. We visited Deansgate on a weekday late morning, the friendly waiting staff found us a table and the general banter with all of the staff was good....It's a compact, but lovely and well decorated, space inside and the music n vibes were great. However the main reason to visit is for the food & drink. My Halloumi & Shrooms was super delicious and my daughter rated the Eggs Benedict highly too. The drinks were excellent, the Dirty Chai (made with Ozone coffee) was probably the best I've ever had. Not a cheap venue (but no more expensive than plenty of inferior places in Manchester) but soooo worthy of the spendMore

Great place

Gorgeous food, coffee, tumeric latte. And such a nice atmosphere with great music too. Staff are all so friendly and didn’t rush me even though I was dining solo and there was a queue. There seems to be a constant queue and I can see...why, it’s worth the wait.More

Never Fails !!

Whenever we make a trip to Manchester we always ensure we work in a trip to Federal for brunch. The NQ did not disappoint in fact they were outstanding in every aspect. The halloumi ‘shrooms were sublime! Staff were so friendly 10/10 Any chance of...having nutritional info on the dishes??More

Yummy

Fantastic breakfast I had the Turkish eggs GF which was amazing ! My allergy was not made a big deal of, but I knew it would be dealt with properly. The staff were super friendly Although there was a queue outside it moved very quickly...and the food came super fastMore
