We went here for the first time on a Woucher deal for 5 tapas and a bottle of red wine. It was very good value, we paid £25 for 5 tapas dishes and the wine. The tapas were nicely done although small. We would certainly pop back in here at some point for a drink or snack. I could not... More

Staying on my own in the Townhouse hotel I decided to give the bar and brasserie a try rather than going out to find a restaurant. Started with a Gin and Tonic from a good selection of gin choices. Very nice but a bit expensive (probably city bar prices). Very helpful and friendly bar person. The restaurant was empty at... More

Visited on a Saturday afternoon with a voucher for afternoon tea. We were greeted warmly & shown to our table. The waiter was polite & friendly and seemed happy to have us. We were asked if we had any preferences for our sandwiches which I always think is a nice gesture and off he went. Afternoon tea was served &... More

We were staying in the hotel so popped in here for a drink and bite to eat. Good menu, pleasant modern surroundings and helpful stay. It was good.

Came here with family on a Saturday night. There where 11 of us all together but i don't believe that is an excuse for the terrible service and long wait for food as we where the only people eating in the restaurant. Nice and quiet restaurant with lovely decor in a beautiful building that was let down by very poor... More

We met friends for lunch on a Sunday and there were 8 of us and we had to wait a while for the food to arrive (the place wasn't at all full) but when it came it was excellent and the staff had clearly taken all the order variations down caarefully so everybody was served just what they asked for... Went for afternoon tea using a voucher from Living Social. The afternoon tea was lovely, the orange scones were beautiful. The choice of cakes were nice but didn't feel homemade, tasted packaged/plastic. The sandwiches were ok, however after requesting on arrival specific dietary requirements for one of us they ignored the request, and had to ask again when the afternoon... More

We stayed at The Townhouse hotel where the brasserie is. The food was presented well and seemed fresh. Service was quite slow and very distant. One of the mains was risotto, this was over cooked and like mush. Was taken off the bill but again the manager (I think) didn't seem too interested. No one checked the food was ok... More

I should have been suspicious when there was no one else in the restaurant, but I was not prepared for the standard of food I received. I had the chicken and chorizo risotto and it was the worse risotto I have ever had. It looked more like clumpy cous cous than risotto and tasted even worse. The whitebait had not... More

Don't waste your money here. I regret wasting my time and having to spend my money at a "restaurant" in which the food arrived late, burnt, and the staff couldn't care less.
