A hidden gem we’ll be going back to, with a big thanks to Salvador for his recommendations. The flat iron steak and gambas volcan were amazing. I’d not bother with the chicken and bbq as it’s a bit bland, but stick to the Canarian dishes...and you’ll do fine.More

The waitress wasn't very polite and friendly, my boyfriend is Spanish and she served us speaking Spanish, ignoring the fact that I could clearly not understand (he had to translate to me). We've been waiting for more than 40 minutes for the food (tapas), and...when we asked, she blamed the kitchen and her colleague on training. They brought to the table things that we hadn't ordered, and in general the place was a mess. In the end of the night, when we payed by cash she asked if we want the change, and when we thank her she just said "de nada", never said thank you or good night. The whole experience was very disappointing. Luckily the manager gave us a sangria on the house to say sorry for the delay of the food, appreciated. Wouldn't visit again.More

Having lived in the canaries in the past, and visited La Bandera many times pre COVID, we were really looking forward to our meal last night. First impressions. The interior had gone very tired looking and shabby. Nice waitress, however we did ask for cocktails...pre meal from the menu but she didn’t know what they were! Husbands whiskey sour average, my cosmopolitan was clear not pink as should be and tasted quite frankly disgusting and I couldn’t finish it! Plus the cocktails came in the middle of our food before we’d even ordered the wine! Food came out far to quickly, almost immediately for the taster board, which had less than average meats on, though the cheese was ok. We’d asked for the food and tapas to be brought out after a gap of time between taster board, which we wanted to enjoy slowly while chatting. However the food came out minutes later filling the table. The wine arrived mid food!! Calamari over cooked and rubbery, prawns ok, Canadian potatoes just ok, and few other disappointing poorly cooked dishes which we couldn’t eat and left. After less than 30 minutes in the restaurant we made our excuses paid the bill and left. A Big waste of £117. We will not be returningMore

My fiancé and I visited La Bandera yesterday for their bottomless brunch - we had been a few weeks previously and had such a wonderful time that we couldn’t wait to return. We opted for the ‘Standard’ brunch, which includes bottomless Cava, beer or wine...and each person can select 3 tapas dishes from a brunch menu, and also receives a brunch board containing cold meats, cheese and bread (absolutely DELICIOUS!) There was a slight mix up where the waitress accidentally put our order through without the ‘brunch’ option, so the portions that arrived at our table were quite large in comparison to how they would usually be served if you are doing the brunch. Salvador noticed this and sorted this out for us perfectly, explaining that as it was an internal mistake we’d be allowed to keep the larger dishes, and was happy for us to also have the cold meat and cheese board too (as long as we weren’t full!). I can’t say we were complaining about having the larger portions…the food was wonderful, if you closed your eyes you’d think you were in Spain! We enjoyed chorizo, patatas bravas and calamari and they were so tasty. The service is without doubt the best service we’ve ever received, and as serial bottomless brunchers it is always something that we pay attention to(!) - our glass was never empty, they were so attentive and friendly! We were also brought over a complementary white chocolate espresso martini in light of the brunch confusion (which was divine!), as well as a shot AND we were asked if we would like a complimentary dessert, which we politely declined as we were so full from all the wonderful food! We’ve genuinely never experienced such wonderful customer service, with a particular shout out to Salvador and Maria for their attentiveness, knowledge and genuinely caring about us having a wonderful time. Incredible ambiance, great variety and choice of food and drink PLUS the meat and cheese board as well as the tapas alongside stand out customer service really makes La Bandera the best bottomless brunch around…and we’ve been to many! We’ve already booked to come here with friends in October and can’t wait to be sitting at the tall tables again having a great time in this wonderful vibey restaurant!More

The tapas is pretty good. We enjoyed everything we ordered. however ,,, The decor is minimalist and very retro. the vinyl padded seating reminded me of old Wimpy Bars back in the day. You are expected to ude the QR code on the table to...view the menu and order. Sorry ... I expect a proper menu I can peruse. It's not helpful when the waiter talks you through the choices so quickly that you immediately forget what he has just said And then there wasteh music ... Spanish garage and far too loud. Sorry ... it's a missMore

This restaurant was lovely. When we initially arrived it was quiet but soon filled up. The atmosphere was lovely. Staff were very friendly and attentive and their cocktails were delicious. The tapas on offer was great and was also delicious. We will definitely be returning...on our next visit to Manchester.More

Was really looking forward to this 25th wedding anniversary gift but left disappointed. First waitress asked if we would like drinks and I said 'could we see the drinks menu'. 2nd waitress asked if we would like drinks and I said 'i'm still waiting for...the menu' to which she replied 'we don't have menu, you need to scan the QR code, did nobody tell you'. So not great first impression. Tapas were good and we ordered the squid ink paella. By far the most salty and over priced paella I have ever had, Small pieces of squid and one king prawn on top. How does a paella for 2 people come with one king prawn? My wife finished hers and I was still eating and they cleared the whole table (apart from my plate) so it looked like I was the only one eating. Whilst still eating I asked for the bill as I just wanted to get out of there. I got the attention of the manager and told him about the issue and said I asked for the bill and wasn't having dessert as I felt rushed to get out. I do sympathize with hospitality and the problems with staffing so will always be more understanding under the current climate. However on this occasion we were disappointed with the service and food (paella). I do hope this is just a one off as I want all businesses to succeed in this sector after what they have been through.More

Given the description ‘terrace’ we expected a bit more than a gathering of plastic tables, chairs and an assortment of umbrellas at the end of a street. It seems the terrace is an impromptu offering when the restaurant gets busy. No effort made to make...it pleasing to the eye with perhaps a fence, cushions, plants etc. Local licensing laws determine that you drink from plastic glasses and a bottle of wine will be emptied into a jug. Obviously outside of the control of the owners. I was expecting better of the service which was lack lustre at best with food deposited on the table by various servers with no explanation as to what they were. Food was OK but the whole experience took the gloss off what was supposed to be a birthday treat. Cannot comment on the interior.More

Visited yesterday for bottomless brunch with a friend as our first visit. We opted for the “premium” bottomless brunch as this offers cocktails rather than cava or beer. The food was lovely and the portion sizes were great. Only two slight disappointing elements, the “terrace”...described on their website is not a terrace. It is simply a number of tables on a road, with a couple of umbrellas for when it’s sunny / rains. Secondly, not sure whether the staff communicate or know what their internal procedure is as the server approached us regarding another drink, when we had only drank around 2/3rds of our current one. Another server bringing the drinks over said “you shouldn’t really have these drinks as you’ve still got some left, that’s the policy”. The staff should really know their own policy, if that’s the case.More
