The well cooked sliced steak and the frites were good - and the house wine more than acceptable. The place was buzzing, so a generally fun experience. We watched the queues over a few days, as we were in a hotel near by. We reckoned the queuing time was a bit shorter if you targeted the queue just before the... More

I've been living in Bordeaux for the past few months and I must say it is my favourite place unbelievable steak and chips great value. Platter of meat is given to you along side your portion and as many chip refills as you please really really good value for 20 euro

My husband and I were staying in the small hotel next door and were intrigued by the lines of people. The next night we joined the line with the locals and tourists - what fun! There was one thing on the menu, steak, fries and salad. The secret sauce was yummy and I enjoyed dunking my fries. The wait staff... More

We've visited this restaurant several times over the last 10 years so would expect it not to change (they only have one dish). However, after queuing for 45 minutes (expected) we found that the service is suffering from their success. It was quite slow and although the steak and frites were cooked the same way (you get extra frites if... More

Luckily the weather was good as L'Entrecote do not take reservations, it is first come first serve. Despite getting there 10 minutes before opening we queued for a good hour on the pavement before being shown to a table. There is no menu and only 2 questions asked: How would you like your steak? What would you like to drink?... More

Very, very busy with good decor and good atmosphere. No menu choice, lettuce salad to start, followed by steak and fries. Menu appears when desserts requested. Steak was OK, service very fast - they want the tables again! Everybody we know said we must go here, but on reflection not sure why. Very average. They have a formula that obviously... More

An experience. I didn't wait in any line because I went seemingly in between the first and second seatings. Great value and great food. Good fun time.

Went with my husband and our 5 year old. Started queuing 10 minutes before opening time and were in the moment it opened. Wonderful salad, steak with gorgeous bordelaise sauce and fries. Our 5 year old ate the lot and finished it with their gigantic house dessert. Very nice red house wine. Amazing for €19 each (without wine and dessert).... More

The queues might put you off, but it's worth the wait, you can tell by the fact that most of the line is made up by locals rather than tourists. Once inside the atmosphere is great, almost every table gets chatting to each other, sharing tips, enjoying great food and wine. The concept is simple, steak, how do you want... More

The unique menu remained unchanged since the beginning. This formula is a decked slice of sirloin of 170 grams accompanied by french fries and its famous sauce. His son Henry, opened a restaurant in Toulouse in 1962, in Bordeaux in 1966, in Nantes in 1980, in Montpellier in 1990, and finally, in Lyon in 1999. These restaurants are characterized by scots and black mural, a lemon yellow topping and hostesses dressed with yellow apron and black blouse. The exterior is beautified by yellow and black blinds vertical stripes for the best effect.
