We couldn't get into our preferred restaurants and this was mentioned favorably in Rick Steves' book. We should have known from the few occupied tables. I eat almost anything, but the entree I was served (seafood but full of shell) was impossible to eat. I sent it back, but the owner did not even speak with me and did not... More

The food here is alright but nothing special and expensive for what it is. The tables are so close together that it is physically impossible to get any more in. We arrived soon after opening and were given a small table near the wall. After a while the restaurant filled up and we found it was impossible to leave our... More

We stopped by here for our last meal of the holiday. It should have been a sign that it was the only restaurant open for lunch today.... But we gave it a try. The owner and his wife were very friendly but our waiter seemed to be very depressed to be working - and after our meal we now understand... More

We ate here in May 2015. We arrived at 2.45 and the restaurant was still busy and in fact continues serving till late that night. We tried to order from the set menu but were told that it finished at 2.30. Si I had the Salad Gourmand, which comprised 90% lettuce leaves, 1 slice of Serrano ham, 2 cold tasteless... More

We stopped for an early dinner and were really disappointed. Mussels were dry and there was no sauce. Paella was inedible. Everything was reheated, dry and overcooked. Such a let down after the amazing food along the coast from san Sebastian. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

First ate here in 1974 and have returned at least once or twice on every holiday here since. During this current recession, things have been 'adjusted', shall we say. For example, sardines are now offered as a main course on the tourist menu, when previously, it was a starter. It's pretty well the same everywhere as the need to maintain... More

This was the worst meal of our trip so far. Rubbery seafood. Overdone chicken. Rick Steve's you blew this one. Actually only bad meal on our trip. Go to San Sebastián for the pinxtos(tapas in Basque). Amazing. This town of St. Jean de Luz feels like night of the living dead this time of year. Sorry we left Spain. Heading... More
