Well located, this restaurant offers a "terrasse" offering a nice view of Old st Malo, but what mostly pleased me was the service: fast, courteous, everybody smiling and joking, wearing a moustache for Movember, and of course great meal ( we had the famous mussels and french fries combo)...

Had seen people eating in here and it looked busy. Food was excellent ( V.large bowl of moules, frites and a beer =19 euros each. Only down side, waiter spilt some of the mussel juice on to my trousers, although said sorry, he was laughing when he said it. If I wasn't with my wife I would have had to... More

This restaurant is right by the main gate into St Malo. But don't walk past it to look for a little restaurant in a back street because this one is superb! I had lunch there before I went to catch the ferry home. I'd decided upon some sort of fish and half a bottle of wine but eventually was also... More

Craig and I went to St Malo for his Birthday in October and spent the day wandering around Dinard. When we got back on the little boat we realized just how hungry we were and headed straight into the walls of St Malo and found this lovely restaurant that was still serving food (it was after lunch but before dinner).... A real restaurant not a tourist trap business. Good french cuisine done with care and with quality ingredients and served with friendly attention so lacking in a lot of restaurants. Really liked my steak tatare and the Stilton salad was well served no searching for a walnut or the Stilton here. Definitely worth a visit when in saint malo in... More

Ate dinner here with friends on trip to St malo, had really nice meal so returned next night. Varied seafood on menu but some great meat dishes. Had oysters to start on both occasions because they were so good. On second night felt like a burger - it was really good. I asked for it rare, in fairness a good... More

Enjoyed after 4 days of seafood a meaty dinner. Location is nice and service very friendly. As in almost all places the waiters were also very helpful to explain the menu to my wife in English. Recommendation: Tartare and Salad with duck confit.

Delicious food and very friendly. Had scallops salad. Partner had chicken burger as doesn't eat fish or red meat. So we had struggled to find a restaurant that accommodated both our requirements. Had walked out of cafe de st Malo because they wouldn't serve my partner who wanted chicken. Scallop alad delicious but a bit pricey as not so many... More

My wife and I were in Saint-Malo for a few days. To complement this beautiful part of the world we decided to have lunch at Le Lion D'or. We were not disappointed. The service was superb, fast and friendly. A great menu on offer with fresh seafood included. We were so happy and satisfied with everything that we revisited the... More
