We had intended to go somewhere else which was too busy, it was raining and they had a table. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, the steaks were good, tasty and tender and the frites were simply delicious, the salad dressing was really nice and a great accompaniment. The wine was great and price surprisingly reasonable, all the people... More

My meal was cold. Service was not very friendly. Sadly I believe they get business based purely on their location. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

First night in Beaune looking for a conveniently located restaurant. Big mistake!!! The food was the worst I have ever had, I had ordered chicken breast with a sauce, what came were two skinny drumsticks, the little meat on them was very dark and accompanied by a watery substance which must have been the sauce. My other dinner companions did... More

This ever name changing restaurant (Le Parisien, Le cafe les negociants) is a shame. I had the misfortune to stop there. Rude welcome from the manager/owner, Nice staff not nicely treated by him. The food itself was typical of microwaved frozen food. The mid range / expensive 'varietal' wine glassed ordered was piss bad and nothing close to what it... More

Our group fell into this place because we were walking around looking for dinner and it was open on a Sunday night. Bad mistake. A fillet steak (listed as a piece of beef on the menu) was passable. Of two rump steaks that were ordered by members of our party, one was so tough as to be inedible. Don't order... More

Well this time I did not have the snails and went for coq au vin or as translated into English, The Wine Cock. It's worth going just to read the awful menu translations. I am sure they give the same attention to the menu as they do to the food. Two small pieces of coq and a hefty charge just... More

I am embarrassed to say that after so much haut cuisine that I wanted pasta or pizza, but my husband still wanted traditional regional fare. It was good; not exceptional but not close to poor. The husband had a good lamb chops and I had pasta. We both enjoyed the carpaccio. Our server was so sweet and charming.

We were sucked in by the great location and the wine list by the glass is good but don't go here to eat. The food is awful and the service is brutal. There is no reason to waste a meal at this place

This 'cafe' is in an excellent and pleasant position near the centre of Beaune. On an evening when we wanted too eat something simple, straightforward, and not rich, we spotted a table outside this restaurant. It's an excellent spot for a drink at sunset and then a meal such as steak and chips or, better still, try the wonderful chicken... More
