We have visited this restaurant three times now and have never been disappointed. We booked online and were welcomed as returning friends not customers. We would not have got a table if we had not booked two weeks in advance. The food wine and service is of the highest quality without being too intrusive. We will return next time we... More

Just off the main drag is this wonderfully done little restaurant. We did not make a reservation but luckily when we arrived, they checked and had one table that was not going to show. We took the last table available on a Monday night. The girl at the front was quite welcoming even though our French was broken and she... More

I had arranged reservations for L'Alambic well in advance for 6 people for dinner on a Friday night. Our group for the overall trip to Reims was a total of 8 people and by the time Friday rolled around, the 2 original "holdouts" wanted to join us. My French is rusty on a good day, and when I called to... More

We went here in the basis of the TripAdvisor recommendation, and the number of non-French people certainly demonstrated the power of a good TripAdvisor rating! But that wasn't a negative at all - the staff were incredibly friendly (which is sadly far from always the case in France when not speaking fluent French), the food was delicious and the setting... Emailed a couple of days in advance to enquire about a table for Saturday evening. Took 24 hours to receive a (positive) response. We were advised that the cellar has 2 sittings on a Saturday evening - 7pm or 9.15pm, or we could choose to sit upstairs at a time to suit us. We chose the earlier sitting in the... More

We were in a table at the cave. The service was outstanding, the owner helped us all the time as she knew we did not speak french. We chose the Gourmet menu, it was delicious! Good variety of champagnes and wines. We will definitely come back!

We booked prior to our visit and we were seated downstairs in the 'cave' . The menu was fairly small with an a la carte and set menu. All the courses were beautiful presented and very tasty. The owner was very attentive and she completed our meal with a cherry liqueur, which was delicious. We will definitely visit again when... More

Having read the reviews on trip Advisor this restaurant looked just right for us, so we ambled by fairly early in the evening but without a reservation. However, rather than dismissing us out of hand, the owner/manageress checked the reservations and found two tables for 2 had booked for just over half an hour ago, but hadn't showed up, so... More

We went to L'Ambic on the advice of other reviewers and were not disappointed. The owner was so kind to explain the menu in English, and the rest of the staff was so friendly and provided first-class service. The food was amazing and the atmosphere quaint and original. Would highly recommend!
