Really glad we ended up having our one and only dinner in Troyes. Didnt like the lighting of the dining area and stuff seemed bit cold with non french visitors but Chef was relaxed and performed well for our standards :) Lovely meal

We had 4 fish or seafood dishes, and all were great. The lobster was tender and succulent, the red mullet, bass, and John Dory were cooked through, but not at all dry. The cheese was beautifully aged, and the desserts had clever and successful flavor pairings. It's a great place for a long, pleasant dinner.

We visited here on the recommendation of the Relais hotel where we were staying next door (also excellent). Despite the place filling up rapidly after we'd arrived, and us having no reservation, the head waiter offered us a choice of three tables - a nice touch that boded well for the evening. We had the cheaper of the two set... More

We chose this restaurant to celebrate an important birthday. The Food was delicious, although the muse bouche was a gambas which I can't eat so my husband got two! Portions were a little small, but quality, flair and flavor were good. The starter with St jacques and prosciutto was the highlight. The service was unobtrusive, but not always attentive at... More

Went à la carte with foie gras and meat. The amuse bouches were good, although we found it strange there was neither butter nor olive oil or similar available with the bread. The foie gras was excellent, but the small glass of sangria that was served with it was not appropriate. Some sweet wine would have been perfect, but as... More

We came for lunch to "Le Valentino" based on reviews on TripAdvisor and Michelin guide and the fact that the chef is Maitre Restaurateur. We came at 13:15 for lunch (they accept people for lunch until 13:30) and there were several tables available on their terrace. We were showed the table right on the entrance/exit. We asked if we can... More

As we travel south into Burgundy to Gigny-sur-Saone, we intend to eat at one of the four Michelin star restaurants, when we visit the nearby small town of Tournus. A puzzling question emerges- why has Troyes, larger, classier and more prosperous than Tournus has precisely no restaurant with the coverted rosette? Claudine and Gilles Andre are 'la maitresse de maison... More

The time between the courses was excessive, it was difficult to keep our daughters seated for so long! The food was good but not worth the price. One dish was in bad condition and to be fair they didn't charge for it but they didn't apologise (a cheese with little worms in it). The communication was difficult as there was... More

We were seated in the courtyard fairly near extractor fan from another restaurant They were not very busy so we did not get too many second hand food smells. The food at Le Valentino was good. The amuse bouche and pre-starter were very good. There was quite a wait between courses which we do not mind but as we were... More

We were lucky to get a table as the restaurant is quite small inside, intimate and friendly with good service, we chose menu de la mer (2 persons minimum) which was divine just enough of each portion to allow you to finish the whole experience, wish we were staying longer as I would have liked to have tried a la...
