These restaurants are always dependable for fresh seafood and "moules Frites, but this one surprised me with their grilled sardines.. They reminded me of Bar Santurce in Madrid where we had wonderful grilled sardines when we were wandering through Raspail Market.

Really nice seafood. Oysters, prawns, clams, cockles, mussels and kir royal. Served on ice in the usual Parisian way.

We tend to go earlier than the usual dinner crowd so the atmosphere is tranquil and we sit toward the back of the restaurant. Service is good, unobtrusive and they try to speak English to us. We insist on speaking French but the servers definitely know English. There is a variety of raw oysters available and the main dishes have... More

Dropped into this small restaurant for lunch today. It was great that there was no one in the street hassling you to come in. Had the Moules and a wine, from their lunch menu. Great taste and value. Will definitely return for lunch or dinner, the menu looks quite good for those who like seafood. Great location, very close to... More

Loved everything from appetizers to dessert. The service is quiet friendly and the food is top notch, I particularly recommend the seafood soup and the mussels.

I must admit that at 12 noon I had already had a business meeting at a McDonald's (not my choice). At 2:00 I found myself walking by this restaurant and everything appealed to me - the outside, the decor, the menu. So I went inside and had to decided if would overeat or just enjoy one item. I chile the... More

I had not been here for awhile but really wanted oysters! I ordered Menu Navigteur which included the oysters on the half shell, moule Roquefort (first time having mussels prepared this way), and ended with crepes suzette. Did not recognize anyone working here anymore. The food was still excellent and service was great! La Criée has changed some of the... More

This place is very close Notre Dame, yet it offers excellent shellfish at a most reasonable price. For EUR 18, we had a fantastic platter of shellfish (including oysters and whelks). We were sitting on the terrace in the sun, enjoying a fine glass of white wine. Service was very good too. Highly recommended!

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
