Great bar, very nice staff! Simple but worth every penny (compared to others in the area). Great belgium beers and superb spirits from balkans! Very simple but really tasty food (Charcuterie). Always full of nice people. Usually packed after 19h.

We read about L'art Brut in Time Out. Though small in size it is large in ambiance and cheer. When we arrived at about 6 pm the place was packed, only 2 tables were available. When I asked the bartender if it was happy hour he said "we are always happy". We thought he was joking until we saw the... More

Such a cute little place in a very touristy area. A great surprise after seeing twenty parisian bistros, all cute, all the same. Friendly service, place gets crammed but it is better for it. Toilet is a little interesting, there only is one and it has wide gaps in the door, but you take it with a bit of humour... More

We went to L'Art Brut for a drink and some nibbles and for starters it was very well priced with a decent vin chaud. It had a friendly barman and felt very authentic with most other people in the bar being French. Thanks for giving us a look into true Paris and being so kind to us.

My partner and I came for an after dinner drink. Really cool little hole in the wall bar. Small selection of food available but we didn't have any. Instead we sat back and relaxed with a carafe of red.

When I was living near Paris, L'Art Brut was one of my favorite spots! I still miss the beer (Sixtus), which I can't find anywhere but there. The place is nice and cozy, good service (for Paris, if you know what I mean)and very good quality of food. I would definitely recommend the place. The only down side is that... More

Friendly clientele. Lively place. Bar staff - ok but not particularly friendly. Efficient service. Beer ok although not the best. Food looked great (big plates of cheese and cured meats) but I did not try it. Well worth a visit for the vibe alone. Try it.

Tucked away down a quiet side street, L'Art Brut Bistro is a perfect way to while away to wile away an early evening in Paris. The problem is that you may end up spending the whole night here. It has a wonderfully laid back feel and we were made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. They have a... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
