Very accommodating - eating at 11:30 - no problem! Prompt service - competent interpretation of east asian/vietnamese dishes and reasonable charges.

I first went to this place 25 years ago when after the representation of a school theater performance. I went then a couple of years after with my girl-friend (now my spouse) and recently. The place has obviously changed but the food is still very good. The best satay, I had in Paris. The ones you try to do at... More

I enjoyed the spring rolls filled with vegetables. The steak with rice was ok. The fried bananas were ok. The service was good. I find it a bit overpriced.

Really nice food, great desert, nice atmosphere, helpful staff (we traveled with wheelchair). The fish prepared in ban?na leaf was really nice looking, may be not exactly to my taste but still good, but spicey squids my girlfriend took tasted delicious. As well as noodles with seafood. Recommended!

Had dinner at Le Sarawan together with my wife. Chinatown Paris is not as compact as it is London, New York or San Francisco and lacks the atmosphere. Most restaurants offer a mix of Chinese, Vietnamese food. The food at Le Sarawan was good, nice looking restaurant too, service was also ok. It is not a budget restaurant, we spent... More

The best Dim Sum and the best Lacked Duck I have tried, and I know 65 countries. The price is reasonable and the service attentive and kind.

I wanted to test a restaurant which seems to be more appreciated by caucasian people rather than asian people in China town. Their menu"découverte" is worth it and includes a great variety of indonesian food. we also tasted chinese and viet dishes which were also quite good. Good service, comfy with its lather big chairs, feels like home. Will probably... More

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighbourhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
