We loved this restaurant from the moment we walked in and were warmly greeted by Leticia, the hostess. The atmosphere was cozy and charming but the food was even better. We (all five) loved every dish and loved that it was served with a smile. We will definitely return on our next trip to Paris!

Last week I and four friends had the pleasure of dining at Le Tournebievre, on the West Bank in view of Notre Dame, and the experience was delightful. The restaurant is small and intimate, run by Chef Christian, his mother, and hostess Leticia, who are nothing but charming. Each stopped by our table, though the place was full at dinnertime,... This place is amazing. On the left bank by Notre Dame (but NOT a touristy place) run by Christian (the chef) and his parents. Leticia is the hostess/server. They are over the top friendly. Leticia speaks flawless English, Christian not a word. Both are so kind. But enough about personalities. The food is unreal. To say that it is "bistro"... More

Great french restaurant with very tasty french food and warming and king people. The old lady from the restaurant is just the best! The chef was around and very kind as well. As dishes we ordered, from starter to desert were delicious. The portions are not "french style" and could be enough for two people who do not eat too... More

We had booked in advance but found that there were plenty of tables when we arrived. The food, wine and service were excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxed. There was plenty of variety on the menu and we'd love to visit again next time we visit Paris to see what will be on offer on the menu.

The food was delicious! The perfect end to our first day in Paris. The lady (owner?) was very sweet and made the night the extra bit special.

Five star in all aspects! We read about this brilliant restaurant on Tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed when we tried it! Really nice location, perfect and very kind service, and the food...OMG!! Just amazing! All those flavours, really nicely presented, very delicious, just FANTASTIC! That fish soup with that rouille on croutons, that gambas, that smoked goat cheese tartine,... More

I would love to give this a great review: the location is lovely, the restaurant charming, the hostess/waitress warm and welcoming but it comes down to the food and it was a bit on the heavy side without what ever it takes to make heavy food really great. The question I always ask myself - would you come back? the... More

This unassuming spot in view of the Notre Dame presented the most sumptuous selection for dinner. The knowledgeable waitperson matched our dinners with perfect wine and chose a most delightful and appropriate to our dinners dessert and wine pairing as well. This place is a must for those wishing an authentic bistro experience with delightful staff. BRAVO!!!

On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
