I have wanted to go to Frenchie for years. I finally snagged a reservation and this was the #1 restaurant I was the most excited to visit. We only ate at Michelin restaurants for the 11 days we were there and as the days went...on, this one went farther down the list. Unfortunately for us, it offers just an OK experience. While the ambiance is charming and the service is generally attentive, the food falls short of expectations. We were rushed in and rushed out with no time to linger. The menu lacks creativity and the execution of dishes is inconsistent. Some items were enjoyable, but others are underwhelming or downright inedible. My daughter and I couldn’t even finish the kiwi desert. Additionally, the prices are steep considering the overall experience. Overall, Frenchie is an okay choice for a meal in Paris, but there are way better options available in the city and I will never be back.More

Friends who had visited Paris earlier in the year recommended this restaurant and we went to celebrate my mother in law's birthday and had the most exquisite meal. Everything we tried was so delicious and the service was of the same high standard as the...food - very attentive and helpful. The wine our waiter recommended was a perfect pairing for our meal.More

We dined at Frenchie for the chef’s tasting paired with the premium wine selections. There are two seatings per evening, and we were there for the first. Reservations are not easy to get, and the price is fairly steep. However, the experience was very memorable...and a highlight of our trip to Paris. The restaurant’s decor is simple, not at all “fancy,” but comfortable. Our table gave us a partial view into the kitchen. I must say part of the enjoyment of dining here is watching how the well the chefs work together—it’s like watching a well choreographed performance. While very busy, all chefs seemed calm and in command of their duties. The food is unique and delicious, consisting of multiple courses that are well described by the server. While each course seems deceptively light, by the time the meal is over, you’re stuffed. My only comment is that because there are multiple courses and limited time per seating, there were a few times I felt a bit rushed (for instance, not finished with one glass of wine before the next selection was poured). The food was superior to the wine served, which was only average considering the price of the premium pairing. Nonetheless, I would recommend this restaurant if you enjoy fine innovative dining.More

The venue is small and intimate. Not very charming—their wine bar across the alley has more of a vibe. But the food was fantastic. It was supposed to be 5 courses, but with all the little extras, it actually turns out to be 2 courses....Each dish was beautifully presented and most had different components. They poured sauces onto our dishes at the table, which was nice. The meal was worth the price tag of $140 Euro. We ate seafood, lobster tail, and duck. The selection was spot on and the flavors matched all of my usual favorites. The matcha dessert was heaven. I love matcha. The meal was elevated and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t recommend it enough. It’s still on my mind! Pictures on my insta @loveinmybelly.More

Like a west village NYC Resturant, but in Paris. If you want to dine with what seemed to be exclusively Americans, then Frenchie is a good spot. That said, the food is pretty good, the service was at least for us friendly but also very...absent at times, our issue is that it is a very American Resturant that reminded us of the places we often go in NYC. If you have limited time in the city, and you want to dine in more authentic Paris surroundings, then look elsewhere.More

Visited Frenchie with my family, and this may be controversial, but our visit left us with mixed feelings. The space is intimate, meaning somewhat cramped. The service was commendable and friendly. But the dishes although visually appealing, fell short of expectations. In a city brimming...with excellent dining options, regrettably, we won't be returning.More

FRENCHIE has lost its French touch. I wish I had read all the reviews before booking because I feel the same way-disappointed ! Three weeks wait to book for an anniversary dinner and then you find out there are two seatings in one night at...a French Michelin restaurant ? What’s the next step? Self service? This is a place for tourists now, one visit and you are done. No lingering over your pre dinner cocktail or after dinner drink, you are rushed the whole time because a second sitting is waiting. The food was good but not memorable. Our first course of tomatoes was good although the wine pairing was totally wrong for the dish. There are two wine price levels and in any decent restaurant in France all the wines are quality wines. In the regular pairing none of the wines are over 20 euro a bottle retail. The entire restaurant was having the only choice, 140 Euro tasting menu so it was an automatic flow of service. Don’t linger. The staff felt like they were selling you real estate, asking constantly if the dish was good. The end of the meal was a disappointing chocolate and red pepper cake. I scooped out the red pepper part and the waitress seemed unhappy about it. In a non French move, you are quickly brought the bill without asking for it, and upon looking at it, my husband saw we were billed for an extra aperitif and four wine pairings instead of two. No real apology from the staff, « mistakes happen ». We were tempted to tell the large group of Japanese tourists to check their bill carefully. No sight of the chef the entire night, not a personable experience. Just a restaurant that was good but has lost its vision with the Michelin star.More

This was one of the most memorable meals of my life. I went to dinner with my wife and we had just an amazing experience. So many courses, full of unique flavors and tastes. Terrific service. One of the highlights was the tomato course -...three dishes of tomatoes served in different ways. One was tomatoes in a vanilla, rum savory sauce. AMAZING. I still can't understand how they made the dish so delicious or how they were able to incorporate vanilla into a savory dish. Our waitress was very hospitable and knowledgeable. She recommended an excellent Saint Joseph wine, which was not regularly available. Very much appreciated. Overall, an AMAZING meal!More

Seated late with a staff that seemed disorganized, lack luster food without a variety of texture or seasoning, and finally a rat running across patrons feet in the restaurant. Sure this place has a Michelen star, but it certainly doesn’t taste, look, or feel that...way.More

Much anticipated having booked three weeks out. Magnificent and meticulously constructed menu. Wait staff who obviously had passion for their work/wine and food. Like a house built by a builder this chef obviously is cooking for food they’d want to eat. Highly recommend.

It was a challenge for me to enjoy Frenchie's as much as I hoped I would. I'm not that much of a foodie, so I won't comment on every course; but I found each of the courses on the mandatory tasting menu to be good,...but not on a par with some of the truly fine restaurants where we have eaten in Paris. The restaurant has an engaging youthful vibe and the waitstaff was very energetic. I personally prefer to see a menu before the course is set down in front of me. The only true complaint I have is that, as each course was presented, the waiters would open the impressive wine list and point me towards the most expensive wines for each category. I actually know a bit about French wines, and enjoy them, but I thought this conscientious "upselling" was not appropriate. On one or two occasions, I declined the waiter's suggestion, and there was no hostility in response. I could see the potential of Frenchie's to become a leading restaurant. In my review, some additional work on the dining atmosphere and the welcome of customers would help.More

Dinner at 6:30pm first sitting with 5 course at 140 euros per person before wire pairing. Since we are not big wine drinkers so all we had was the 5 course. This is our first time eating at a one star Michelin restaurant and some...of the dishes looked more beautiful that it really tasted. We started off with 3 little amuse bouche...oyster with a cauliflower foam on a half shell, a little mini tart shell with tiny chopped up veggies with some black garlic, and a little waffle toast like triangle with peas. These items were not part of the 5 course meal. The oyster tasted too "flowery" for me and i did not like the cauliflower foam on top. The first appetizer was one green asparagus from Provence dotted with a lemon oil and on the side was asparagus ribbons with a green verveine sorbet. Then they come around and pour some "tonnato" sauce (tuna, anchovies, lemon, oil, and some mayo) on the dish. I did not like the sauce at all but the asparagus ribbon and the one asparagus spear were tasty. Was it a "wow" appy?? For me, a definite "no", unfortunately. The second appetizer was 3 ravioli stuffed with cheese and some chicken sauce. The sauce on my dish was very salty but the raviolis were tasty. The first main dish was a very small filet of sole (but not Dover sole) prepared like a "meuniere". Beside it was hollandaise sauce (very light and foamy), one or two small white asparagus, and they came around with a langoustine sauce. Again, on my dish, the sauce was extremely salty and the fish was disappointing as it wasn't a Dover sole meuniere. The fish they had was much thicker. Another dish that did not "wow" me, unfortunately. The second main dish was quail ...one small roasted piece of quail (deboned) which was tender, juicy, and tasty. Then there was a small little quail sausage using one of its bone as a popsicle looking creation. This qual sausage for me was too "gamey" and I usually like wild game. The 3rd item on the same plate is half a small artichoke heart with an anchovy cream and a thin slice of guanciale that was the highlight for me. Then they came around and poured another sauce on the plate which was green and tasted too umami and earthy for me. Unfortunately, for me the green sauce did not complement the quail at all. Our dessert amuse bouche was a "banofee" ...house specialty which was delicious and refreshing. It came in a little cup with crunchy pecan and cookie crumble on the bottom and topped with banana cream and a dulce de leche cream on top. It would have been better if the bananas were riper because there was a strong taste and smell of unripe bananas. Our 5th course was the main dessert which was sliced fresh strawberries layered with 2 very thin tuile type biscuit and a piece of green mousse made with tagette (an herb). The green tagette was very different in taste and for me, it was not good. The dessert was dotted with a honey ganache which was delicious and a small spoonful of refreshing clean lemon sorbet. Again, a strawberry sauce with marigolds was poured on the dish. This was the only sauce that was very tasty out of the 5 courses. I should mention they give you 2 little bread baskets and house made butter with seaweed which was again very different in taste...very umami tasting again which I did not care for. To end the meal, miniature tiny puff pastry filled with black sesame but it was so tiny that it was so hard to taste the filling. House made apple cider jellies were tart and sweet then they also had caramels that were very buttery and delicious. We are glad we had the experience at Frenchie, one star Michelin restaurant, but many of the sauces were not good and overly salty, and the fish was a huge disappointment. We would not return but we are happy that we gave it a try. For us, there are just too many very good French restaurants in Paris that are not one star Michelin that serve excellent food at a much more lower price point. Service was good but I had to ask one of the girls for lemon twice as she had forgotten the first time. The restaurant is very small with only 7 or 8 tables so you have to make reservations to ensure a spot at either 6:30 or 9:30. Many of us were done between 8:30 and 9pm.More
