Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having already fallen in love with this restaurant when it was located in another arrondisement , it was a delight to find it again. It is every bit as good, if not better, than ever. Wonderful flavors, nice and plentiful proportions, good prices, a varied...menu that meets many differing tastes. Large tables unlike the "paris squeeze" so often found in gay old Paris. Efficient and pleasant waiters. A subtle, understated, modern ambiance accenting the terrific food choices. The amuse bouche the day I had lunch, was a huge portion of superb pate, complete with cornichons+small cocktail onions. It is rare to have such a generous (free) amuse bouche and kicked off the meal in a such a special, welcoming and great way.More

What an amazing experience this restaurant is. Luckily, they have an English menu, otherwise I'd have to run every ingredient on every dish through a translator--the combinations are that unusual and special. Impeccably presented dishes in a gorgeous space and, truth be told, pretty much...a bargain for a restaurant of this quality: currently 55 euros for a 3-course meal. Also an amazing, encyclopedic winelist. As for the complaints here that the waiters are rude to Americans, I would have to just call them efficient, not chatty, those ours tried to talk me out of the hake and into the cod, but the French woman next to us, when I asked what I should do, told me (in very fast French) she had had both many times and both were excellent, scolded the waiter for being too bossy, then ordered the hake herself. Here's a picture of it (though I probably should not have ruined the presentation before I snapped). Try a burgundy--they're astronomically expensive in the US.More

My favorite restaurant in Paris. Squid ink risotto is to die for. Of course grand marnier soufflés is a must. The perfectly cooked pork belly. Cyril is the best host and he caters to our every little whimsical demand we requested. It is a must...in Paris. Must make reservation ahead of time.More

We had eaten here 10 years prior and it was our most memorable meal in Paris. So I reserved a table for the very first night we arrived. They did not disappoint. I love porcini season and September kicks it off. They took full advantage...as did we ordering many of the specials that highlighted this seasonal ingredient. They were congenial and the service was excellent. The food was really just excellent. Presentation beautiful. I love the terrine starter. I have to pace myself as that could have been my whole meal. It will be our first stop again next trip to Paris… not waiting ten years though! Don’t miss it. I can only speak for 2 experiences many years apart and it’s hard to believe it could have been a fluke.More

I was a bit weary after reading some of the reviews but found them to be wrong. We had a great meal. The staff was friendly and explained all the extras upfront. We had a couple of them, and the bill was as explained and...expected. I'd eat every meal I saw being served and would readily return.More

Excellent food in a surprisingly warm and welcoming environment. Fully air-conditioned which is welcome in the summer. Good vegetarian option in addition to meat dishes. We are back for a second time. Fantastic team!

La Régalade was a great choice for our dinner with friends. But it could just as well be the destination for a business lunch or a date night. The food is great, flavorful and well priced. I had the beef (paleron de boeuf) which was...delicious. Would highly recommend this place for the quality of the food, wine and service and the atmosphere.More

I booked this months in advance as it had great reviews and it did not disappoint. Had 3 courses for €49, with a small supplement for a special that we were clearly told about. House white was delicious. Also gave an unexpected starter before the...starter so we were very full.More

This dinner was to have rounded up a glorious stay in Paris. Instead we left disgruntled because of the non-transparent pricing on their English menu. The 4 of us ordered their set dinner (49 Euro each), but as they offered the seasonal white asparsgus as...a starter on a separate board, with a supplement of 9 Euros, we happily went for that as well. The waitress did not tell us that this was on top of 15 Euro as the price of a starter, nor that we could swap starters from the set menu. As a result, we ended up paying 24 Euro for that simple plate of 4 white asparagus. On subsequently checking, we found out that whilst the French menu indicated the prices for starters, mains and desserts, if ordered a la carte, the English menu did not. This is deceptive pricing. Food was decent, but not outstanding. Best to stay clear unless you are French speaking.More

A disappointing evening. Nothing outstanding about the set dinner. And a huge shock when we received the bill, which included a “supplement” charge of €9 in addition to the additional entree charge of €15 each, as we’d ordered these two additional entrees (starters) to our...€49 set dinner. Whilst it’s logical that we’ve to pay €15 for each of the additional entree, we were asked to also pay €9 each for these additional entrees because, as the manager repeatedly explained to us…and which the four of all, all senior citizens and ex-bank personnel, cannot understand…is why then the €9 charge on top of the €15? And, like a broken record, he repeated that it’s because we’d ordered an additional entree…in “supplement” to the entree that’s included in our set dinner. Does this make sense to anyone reading this now…because we still don’t. Then it gets more complicated. When we kept expressing our failure to comprehend this system and when asked if this was the standard practice in Paris (we’ve all been to Paris countless times, both for work and for leisure) his explanations were: 1. No.This isn’t a standard restaurant practice (Hence its unique to La Régalade) and 2. We would be charged the €9 had we substituted the entree in our set dinner menu with this entree from their à la carte daily special…which makes sense. But we explained that that no substitutions were made and that that entree was in addition to our set dinner menu and not a substitute. So should not we be charged only its cost of €15 (in addition to our set dinner menu of €49)…but without the €9 supplement charge as it was not a supplement / substitution (which had it been done, then yes, we would have to pay the additional €9 on top of our €49 set dinner price…but then there wouldn’t be the €15 charge?) He insisted that it was a “supplement” as we’ve had an additional entree, so we have to pay the €9 each. So, to summarise: We paid €49 for our set dinner + €15 each for our two additional entree…+ €9 each for those two additional entree which is considered by them as a “supplement” Can someone please explain the logic behind the €9 charge as despite our combined age of 294, we still cannot understand their pricing system. We gave up. Paid and left.More
