Amongst the abundance of wine bars, pubs and cozy spots in the pedestrian St Sulpice neighborhood, the homey atmosphere of La Cremerie makes for an ideal drop-in, as we did recently for light food and an excellent wine choice. Snug seating for perhaps a dozen, plus a few stools at the bar, set an atmosphere for the limited range of... More

Nice quiet venue in an area with plenty of good food and music choices. After four hours traveling from Naples this was an oasis in St Germaine. I asked a locale a place to buy a bottle of wine on the way to the hotel and La Cremerie was recommended as in addition to serving food sell wines by the... More

Hidden away on a little side street La Cremerie sits, with only 5 or 6 tables inside and only open for lunch and dinner reservations. This place is a MUST if you're ever in Paris. On our recent trip to Paris my mom and I had read up on la Cremerie and decided to spend an hour of two for... More

I wanted to stop in at La Cremerie the last time I was in Paris but the wine bar was not open. The place is teeny tiny and filled with locals. There are only six table and seating at the bar for four. Many people come for a dish or two to enjoy their amazing selection of wines.I sampled several... More

I was staying in Saint Germain des Prés (my favorite area in Paris) for a family event and kept walking past La Cremerie in my daytime meanderings. I felt very attracted by the old fashioned exterior, an old "cremerie" (milk and cheese store) at first sight, until I noticed cute candle-lit wooden tables and lots of wine bottles. Definitely a... Last dinner in Paris happened upon this restaurant. Fabulous meet and cheese and heirloom tomatoes to share, but, even better, the wine! The steward obviously knows his wine and introduced us to some small and less-known vintners. We bought some to take home as well as enjoy during dinner.

I love this place . Had walked past many a time before whilst visiting Paris and finally got in once, then again and again. Even the street name is romantic. The guys keep shortish lunch and dinner hours but this is worth the wait. It is for the 'slow food' diner who loves the simplicity of quality cheese, sauccison and... More

Arrive early if you wish to snag a seat for dinner or get the reservation in. We were most taken with the superb dinner and excellent wine pairing.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
