I had pretty good food at a very fair price. My wine and meal wre about 22 euros. Theservice as excellent and the staff were very nice. They even had English menues for us Americans. I was full and got my protein. I had the salmon, others in my group had other meat entees and were equally happy.

we were not starving, but needed a decent meal. Our salads were huge, yet very delicious, and left no wish for more than a dessert. The strawberries with creme chantilly was not anything special, though, the creme looking like coming from a CO2 canister. The place has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, yet attentive service. All in all recommended.

Had breakfast here twice as we found it such good value for money in Paris. Juice, croissant, bread & jam and choice of omeletee and coffee for either €9 or €11 depending on type of omelette you choose. Ready set us up for the day. Real 'parisian' atmosphere. Only bad point was that we were short changed on our second... More

Arrived in Paris on Thursday 12th Jan quite late. This Cafe was near our Hotel and still open so we went in. It was quite busy with people still eating and looked perfect for a late night snack. We all had a starter each which were average. Three of us had chicken salad for our main. Well one of them... More

A bustling establishment that to me epitomizes Paris.. Waiters who banter with the clientele while making menu suggestions; fast, unpretentious service, excellent food... and good value for money. One warning: the "appetizer" salads are more suited to main courses (or sharing). I have been here several times overe the past two years and it has never failed me. I will... More

Me and my girlfriend visited Paris for a week in late October 2011 and ate at Cafe Daguerre a few times while we were there, partly because it was really close from our hotel (Best Western Nouvel Orleans) but mostly because we really liked the place. We enjoyed every meal there, waiters were nice and funny, prices were very reasonnable... More

My wife and teenage boys recently enjoyed a vacation in Paris. We rented a house from a local family in the 14th arrondissement. We really enjoyed the area as it is the outer edge of Paris and not quite so touristy (read EXPENSIVE) as the heart of Paris. Anyway Cafe Daguerre was a short walk from our lodging and on... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
