Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I were looking for a last minute dinner option and came upon this adorable Italian place. It is tiny yet cozy and the food really good. We started with the bruschetta, each had a pasta, my husband the pesto and I had...the carbonara. Tender pasta strands covered in a delicious sauce. We also enjoyed the best Chianti I had ever had, recommended by the bartender. The matron was kind and helpful and we enjoyed our time here.More

Super cozy, teasty food and great service! The people here are great, from the chef to the waiter that is a wonderful warm lady.

Yesterday we had dinner at this place and afterwards a sum of 110 Euro was debited twice when paying the bill. I then reported this to the owner directly, but he was not willing to return the amount, despite the fact that the proof was...clear on the online banking app.More

I had cacio & pepe pasta last night and my friend had vongole pasta. They were both good. But we had to wait for ever to get everything: our glasses of wine, our salad, our mains and then the bill. The venue is super tiny....And noisy too. It's not bad atmosphere but it's just not ideal. But mostly, they could use staff that are way more on the ball. If you're American and used to super efficient service, do not go there.More

Don’t dillydally, reserve a table at this cozy restaurant called L’Alimentari! Léonardo, the Italian chef has a magical touch when making traditional dishes from the south of Italy. We were able to spy him working with agility through the kitchen service window. I was amazed...watching Badou, the chef’s assistant helping in such a confined space. We had fun discovering the vast choices on the menu written in chalk on a blackboard. Charming Nafissa, our waitress, was a great help answering our many questions with a smile. For a starter Pierre and I shared Carpaccio Manzo su Guttiau which is sliced beef carpaccio with an original traditional flatbread. Pierre was seduced by a main dish of linguine Bottarga which is pasta in the form of narrow ribbons served with a salt-cured fish roe typical of Sardinia. I enjoyed oven roasted vegetables with buffalo mozzarella. Our taste buds were enchanted! We chose Rocca Rubia riserva to accompany our meal. This wine is made from 100% Carignano grapes. It has a deep, almost solid ruby red colour. In the bouquet are fruity notes of berries, vanilla and liquorice. The palate is velvety with a long aromatic finish. We made a note to go back to have a dessert. We highly recommend this pocket-sized establishment which offers authentic savors from Sardinia.More

I am loath to review any of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, in the hopes that the already over-touristed Marais will not get any more touristy and that tourists will not overrun the places we love. However, after reading some of the unfair and inaccurate reviews...of L'Alimentari on Trip Advisor, I feel it my duty to speak up for an little-known gem. It is very difficult to find good, let alone excellent, Italian food in Paris at a reasonable price. There is abundant bad Italian food, including several bad pizza restaurants within a 5-minute radius of us, so L'Alimentari is a bright spot amidst the mediocre small restaurants in the 4th arrondissement. What they have on any given night is what they have - the menu changes daily and is not extensive, but you can be sure that what they do have will be fresh and excellent. The dishes are not fussy but they are home-cooked and first rate. For example, a perfect veal chop with rosemary or a crisp fritto misto is deceptively simple but not easy to prepare. The wines are largely from Sardinia, delicious and fairly priced. Service can be slow later in the evening, given the size of the small kitchen, but it is unfailingly pleasant. The chef-owner Leo is charming and talented. If all this does not appeal, please do us all a favor and go elsewhere! The faithful local clientele will be delighted to take your table.More

The waitress was absolutely rude & awful, the menu quite short, the past was really narrow. We finally decided to move on and find another place. In addition, the dishes were super expensive.

While I’ll never grow tired of French cuisine, this unexpected respite of Italian was just what we needed. Cozy restaurant, attentive service, and excellent food/wine. The pasta dishes were fantastic (don’t miss the shrimp D’Avalo). Highly recommend - we will be back.

We were a hungry group of seven and this cozy trattoria really hit the spot. Terrific homemade pastas and tasty meat and fish dishes prepared by the friendly owner-chef and served by his delightful French wife. The chef is from Sardinia and the food was...high quality and delicious- do try the Sardinia wine, very good value at 23€\bottle. Highly recommend this spot- we went 2x in four days.More

After having been seated. The server, who is the wife of the Chef, went on her way to server other clients. After a half hour of not being even asked if we d like something to drink (thile the chef and the hostess shared glasses of prosecco with three women who arrived after us) we left. A real shame how the lack of service can impact the overall client experience. Couple wih no children we eat out 5 nights a week out, we would have been good clientsMore

We had lunch in this small, beautiful and well located restaurant in the Marais. While some of the courses were excellent, others were quite on the salty and oily side. Given the price range, we left slightly disappointed, although we had really enjoyed the atmosphere...in this restaurant.More

The food at this restaurant is extremely delicious as the chef knows exactly what he is doing. The restaurant is small/cozy with a very homely atmosphere. It is conveniently located near the Marais area of Paris.

Where should I start, the drunken waitress, mediocre food, 45 minute wait for the plain grilled veggie appetizer? Basically because they are in the Marais, a heavily touristed area, the can get a away with anything and everything.

I spent 9 weeks in Paris 3 years ago. I found this small quaint Italian restaurant in the neighborhood of Marais. The chef is the owner and the chef and in the past had such friendly knowledgeable young ladies serving the wine and the food....We just had one night in Paris and we picked this restaurant to return to. The website says they open at 6:00pm , we arrived at 7:00pm. The chef very abruptly said to come back in 30 minutes. It was hot and we raced on foot to get there, we asked if we could just sit and drink wine. The answer was yes, but the one and only server acted like he was doing us a favor serving us warm wine. Finally we got to ordering and the menu was in Italian, he was so unhelpful , unfriendly, and not very courteous! I should also mention we were the only 2 people in the entire restaurant . We were already feeling the negative vibes from this fellow, we only ordered 2 appetizers , they came out shortly and surprising very good. Shortly after we received the starters , the chef and the server decided to go outside and smoke and BS around. I finally had to get up and go track them down to get my check. We left and went to another restaurant to have a main course. Very disappointed in our choice, and when we return to Paris, this restaurant will not ever be considered !More
