Check their food prices before entering. Never had to pay so much for a soup of noodles anywhere in Europe. Not sure if we will go back. But we were too tired to walk out. Their white wine was OK but.

Please for your own sake go to any other place around the opera This is true lies and a ripoff One its not Vietnamese at all (more a cheap Asian blend with food made out of pack not a hint of Vietnam beside the writing of the menu Second not gastronomic at all ( food cold and with no Taste)and... I made the mistake of coming here without checking reviews. All the bad reviews are right. Mediocre, over-priced food. I ordered a large pho, which is actually a medium. It was alright but nothing special and definitely not worth 25 euros! I also ordered a Vietnamese crepe, which was filled with tons of bean sprouts and just little bits of... More

After a morning shopping at Printemps we were desperate for a bite to eat. Encouraged by our dining experience on Rue Monge at La Foyer Vietnam we decided to try Vietnamese again for lunch. The names of the dishes were Vietnamese but the cooking was some weird hybrid more closely resembling Indian cuisine. My partners Chicken and noodles had a... More

Normally enjoy Vietnamese food and as Vietnam was once ruled by France thought this would be a good choice - NO! Chose Summer Roll and Pho for lunch which I've eat many times before in Vietnamese restaurants in both England and the US. The Summer Roll (standard size) lacked any herbs and spices and at Euros 15/£12/$18 was definitely overpriced... More

went there for a business lunch, and we all ended having pho soup (the big bowl). a safe choice, considering the other options were relatively pricy. I can say it was excellent, and so was the flat green pea dessert, not too sweet. Also, the coffee was good and not over priced. overall, although prices seemed a bit on the... More

I was in Paris for a week-long training and ate at Le Santal 3 times, twice at lunchtime and once in the evening. The entrance is inviting; the place is small and so well-appointed that it doesn't seem crowded. Each time the food was good. Hadji served us with a smile and efficiency. I enjoyed the Lau soup. Just spicy... More

We dropped in to this restaurant which was very close to the W Hotel. We had a lovely experience. It was more expensive than similar food at home (Canada), but then again, what food in Paris isn't? Cost can be managed by including a couple of cheaper dishes like fried rice and vegetables. We found the dinner to be a... More

For €23 you would expect a decent serving of chicken and noodles. That's not the case at Le Santal. Our food wasn't fresh and the chicken had clearly been re-heated in a microwave. It was dry and rubbery, not to mention the sauce was non existent. I'd recommend staying clear of the seafood also. My calamari wreaked of day old... More

The food was okay but it was too expensive. And the small was too small. We thought that there are many kinds of pho because on the sign it said "Pho €15" but there was only beef pho and it was not even written big. I didnt expect the size to be so small with this price. Though it was... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
