If you're looking for authentic Parisian Brasserie, Les Gourmands de Notre Dame should be at the top of your list. The place is cozy and is the perfect neighborhood restaurant for great food and wine. What made this place even more special was the warm treatment we got from maitre d Altimo. We enjoyed our first experience so much that... More

An easy restaurant with good portions, casual dining and not so expensive. The food was freshly prepared and hearty. The staff very friendly and the atmosphere suggested it was a local neighborhood restaurant. Many people dropped by to say hello to one person or another.

Was looking for a good meal on a recent trip to Paris. A big fan of Le Reminent, I went there but they were full and I just wandered into this place 2 doors down. The owner was extremely welcoming, bought me a glass of wine and helped me find the perfect seat. I had the Leg of Lamb which... More

Really good food. I was too adventurous and ordered my first swordfish steak and escargot. They were nice but I was a bit weirded out only because they were new to me. I looked jealously towards my guests meals, most of which were more appealing to me. The point is it was great that they had such a wide variety... More

Daughter working in area a while she has had good food each occasion. For us this time snails followed by well cooked fish for her & an interesting regional beef casserole for me.

Gourmands has a Happy Hour daily from 3-7PM with $5 500cl beer. We were staying a couple of doors away and would stop regularly for a pint. Very welcoming and friendly although they did not speak English and we do not speak French, but still mad you feel right at home.

Have gone to this little cafe multiple times in the evening to relax and have drinks with my boyfriend. The owner is exceptionally kind and outgoing and the prices are great (especially during Happy Hour!)

First I ask for Burgundy, tells me he doesn't have any, brings me a graves..meh...fine. the Beef Bourguion was microwaved, the pasta was not fresh. But, the kicker was the triple sec grand Marnier this moron charged as Grand Mariner. Close it up, you suck, get another career. Yuk!

Unpleasant moment due to the staff (refused to serve us tap water, not arranging at all about payment)... If you don't like people, don't work in a restaurant !

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
