Taverne Du Nil is a very good Lebanese cuisine restaurant on the famous island "Ile Saint Louis". They have a broad variety of Lebanese food, and from what Ive tried it all tasted really good! What I loved most is the incredible service. Very welcoming, friendly and fast. The interior design is also very nice and unique. A must try... More

You see the man in the picture, he is the owner, we went there by a friend's recommendation and would never regret it The owner was so friendly he even offered us to trust him on feeding us rather than ordering from the menu It was amazing, starters. Mezza. Mixed grill. Dessert. Fruits. Soft drinks. Tea He wouldn't stop. He... More

Tucked away in a side street off the main road through the island, the Taverne du Nil is a really good find and a welcome change to traditional French cuisine. The mixed vegetarian platter was delicious, with wonderful individual flavours, and the kebabs tasty. The owner was friendly and helpful. The whole experience made us want to try other offerings... I was searching for a place to book Sunday lunch for a group of us near Notre dame. We found this incredibly family friendly Lebanese place. Heaps of food- great range of starters and grilled meat to keep all the family happy. Very friendly to kids. We all had a lovely meal. Would come back

We ordered a preselected assortment of 13 mezzes and a simple bottle of red wine from the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon. We were delighted. Old favorites like houmous or baba ganoush were perfectly prepared. A few house specialties, too complicated to describe, were wonderful surprises. Service was fast and cheerful, with the owner joking with equally facility in French, English,... More

Wandered in here without a reservation. No problem. The proprietor is rather boisterous but helpful enough. Its laid out more like a Spanish taverne than anything but comfy enough. Almaza beer available which is quite a nice beer, and a range of lebanese wines, some of which are quite decent. Food traditional lebanese - quite good but not outstanding. A... More

I've never been a fan of Lebanese food but having read the reviews on trip advisor we came here hoping to be converted. Unfortunately we wern't. This may well be one of the finest of its type, but soggy pastries and vinega soaked vegetables just can't compare to the equivalent priced French cuisine; but don't let this put you off.... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
