Tastiest french treats and most friendly staff. Everything we tried there for breakfast for 3-4 days were amazing. Try the croissants, their award winning baguettes, sandwiches.

My local baker! I'm so lucky to have such an excellent baker and pâtisserie here next door. Terrific for breakfast croissants, succulent pain au rasins, bread cakes and other horribly fattening but unforgetable things. At lunchtime the locals flock there for homemade soups and a vast selection of the best of sandwiches made with their award winning baguettes. Rush! Don't... More

Could be the best bakery shop for this area of Paris. Good price. Try their raspberry cake: velvet texture, rich creamy chocolate taste. I was in heaven when had the first bite. Their chicken sub is good for a quick lunch too. Tips: Not a huge fan of their coffee..... Try to get espresso somewhere else. Their pastry go with... More

I bought breakfast a muffin and a sandwich at this dump this morning. I was in the line and ordered just like any body else. When I tried to pay for my stuff after ordered the owner(I assume she is) at register, tired looking red lip stick, skinny, middle aged woman dissed me and told me that i need to... More

We spent far too much money at this little place, but it was delicious. The hot dog sandwiches were amazing as were all of the pastries. The eclairs were my favorite!

We rented a small apartment for a week just down the street and this became our go-to place for morning croissants. We also stopped in for canelles, little fluted cakes with rum and vanilla, that were to die for. Many of the cakes and tarts were works of art. The staff was very friendly and seemed to appreciate our attempts... More

Went in early around 9am and I was served right away but soon there were 2-3 customers behind me. I ordered a salmon sandwich (general portion), a croissant and a pain au chocolat. All for 7.15 euros! Salmon was fresh as it should be and tasted great and fills you up. Both croissant and pain au chocolat were also good... More

I only ordered the Croissant and chocolate eclair and regret not trying out more. Both were really high quality. The chocolate eclair is filled with a chocolate creme pat. It had great chocolate flavour and not overly sweet. I wish I tried the pistachio flavour. This bakery is really well price.

I was looking for a bakery and frankly I got lost on the confusing street signs in Paris and eureka. I found Julien. What a discovery. How can I not fall in love with rich, flaky, soft croissant, heavenly chocolate éclair, sweeter than my wife macaroon and other luscious pastries? I am in love with you Julien. I know my... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
