I love a food gimmick. There's a Buzzfeed post going around making fun of hipster food gimmicks, but for me, the problem is when the gimmick loses its originality, or it was never a very good trick in the first place, probably lacking in intelligence or interfering with the enjoyment of the food itself. What a nice concept! You eat a dessert for starter and main meal and then a meal as dessert. Good level of service, excellent food. The only bad element was my real dessert that was not ordered and than I had a cold brownie in replacement. They actually offered it as compensation. So go there, it's worth a try but... More

Having appy & main dish to look like dessert & dessert to look like appy is such a fun concept. Food looked good, as well as tasted good. Wine tasted good too. Reasonably priced. Super friendly servers. Very busy restaurant, book in advance! Highly recommended!

we found this restaurant by complete accident ,although it was fully booked they still found room for us to dine. It is a really good concept making your starter and main course look like a Dessert, and your Dessert looks like a main course. It seems a bit strange but it was a fantastic meal, reasonably priced, great service and we will... More

All the food options here are good, and if you were to blindly eat the food without thinking about the fact that the desserts look like entrees, and the entrees look like desserts, you might say that the food is excellent. Unfortunately, for me, the visual effect was impossible to overcome, and my mental expectation of what I was eating... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
