This is not the first time we go to Café Procope, we always go back if we are in Paris. The food is good and the service is okay. The decoration is original and it really gives you the atmosphere of an old Parisian café....More

I meant to go To Café Procope on this trip, since it is the oldest restaurant (though under different names) in Paris. It was host to American revolutionary figures like Franklin (who has a whole large room named after him). Jefferson, and Jean-Paul Jones. Likewise,...More

This is an excellent restaurant that rises up to its history and reputation as oldest running restaurant in Paris. From the moment you enter this restaurant, you feel you went back in time. Decoration is beau-tiful. Stuff is professional and friendly. Food is delicious. Highly...More

I came here for drinks and cheese before a dinner reservation in the area. They made me a really good cheese plate with a little salad on it and some bread. I tried a champagne I had never heard of which was very good. The...More

the service was okay. the food was okay. the prices were okay. the charm of the restaurant itself was the draw for us. And for that reason I'm glad we went, wouldn't go back again. The French onion soup was watery and tasteless, darn!

Despite the recommandation I had read in the travel guide, my order was served lukewarm. In a very nonchalant manner the young trendy waiter made me understand that this was not his problem. ......perhaps just a strategy to proof to tourists that many waiters deserve...More

We love the experience of dining here. Food was simple and good (e.g. Beef cheek, calf liver, steak, coq au vin, oysters etc). But this place is more than a restaurant. Their history, the atmosphere, paintings, and interesting displays cannot be replicated elsewhere. It's also...More

My cousin who travels to Paris every year highly recommended this place because my husband loves steak tartare. It did not disappoint! The food was delicious. The service and ambience were wonderful. We were in Paris during the US elections. Between that and recently seeing...More

I'd heard about Le Procope, like everyone has. Heard that Voltaire, George Sand, Jefferson & Franklin all hung out there - it was established in 1686 and has the best food. They even have a hat in the lobby that is supposed to be Napoleon...More

Recommended by the concierge at our hotel (and just around the corner) we gave Cafe Procope a try for a night out in Paris; it was an excellent recommendation. The cafe, said to be the oldest in Paris, is well decorated in historic style to...More

Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the
residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon
never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional
cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets
surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide
eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just
next door and the prototypical terraced French
brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this
