One of the few places with really good service. Funny waiter. Nice place. Good wine. The salads looked nice.

I personally think this restaurant is a great one! Had the omelette, which I have all 3 times I have ate there over a span of 7 years, and it was amazing as always. Great fresh squeezed Orange Juice as well!

Rude staff. As we sat there we witnessed the waiter rudely denying the use of the facilities to non customers.

There's so many stunning Crêperies in the neibourghod, it is a disgrace to waste time on this one ... cold, cheap ingredients; They surely serve other brasserie food, but I urge you to walk away .... They only survive because of their top nearby Notre Dame spot.

We sat a the terrasse with our two children aged 17 and 15, to have lunch and drinks. My son was holding a small 20cl bottle of orange juice, 90% empty. The employee, very aggressively, before even saying hello, started to say " not that here", talking about the nearly empty bottle. He started to explain that it was forbidden... More

Food too expensive for the quality. Staff not very kind and friendly. Do not recommend. We ask for a chicken sandwich that was cold.

We stopped for lunch here after visiting Notre Dame. Curiously, there are very few places to eat near the Cathedral- very strange, considering the huge volume of tourists in this area. The name, "Esmeralda" is, if I remember correctly, closely associated with the Notre Dame Cathedral. In Victor Hugo's novel "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", it was the name of... More

A decent enough brasserie for having a light lunch and watch the world go by. For us no frills and decent service. You never felt rushed and the Planche we ordered was good. A couple of beers and 2 wines in and we were merry enough for the rest of the afternoon. In my view it served our needs and... More

We been there after a tour in Notre-Dame for a drink. We ordered a crepe and sandwich. The crepe was not bad but the sandwich horrible, already prepared since a while ( not so fresh), no butter and ham started to become dry.

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
