I finally tried Azabu after several visits to Paris and several stays at the hotel around the corner. The food was good but definitely overpriced. The menu is also limited and wasn't what it appeared online.

You better make a reservation as this very good japanese restaurant is small. And qite full on the evenings as it is open on sundays! Very nice lady at the reception, very sweet people explaining everything and very very good food (the crab with saké is unforgettable!! )

Great food and perhaps the best service I've ever had in restaurant in Paris. I came here completely jet-lagged and extremely tired but this place really was well worth going to. Focus is not just sushi so the variety of japanese food offered is very interesting but less so if you're just looking for sushi.

We've been coming to Azabu for years. Every time we visit Paris we make a pilgrimage to this restaurant. I consider Azabu one of the best Japanese restaurants in the world outside of Japan. The food is really special and the Fois Gras over rice is easily one of the best things in life to eat! The fois gras is... More

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Paris, held by real Japanese, not Chinese people and that makes the whole difference. Located close to metro Odeon and hidden in rue Mazet, a quiet street known only to students, as the « restaurant universitaire » is there as well, Azabu is a piece of Japan complete with minimalist decor, quiet and... I was very fortunate to be invited along with a party of Japanese colleagues for a dinner at Azabu and had a delightful evening! The premises were small and very authentic with an open kitchen and immediately reminded me of Japan..but after the first taste of vegatables in dashi, I was back in Japan completely. What followed was a string... More

One is welcomed, one is appreciated, one is catered to and one is served perfectly fresh food, wonderfully prepared. The space is light and immaculate. Azabu has created a haven.

Hidden in a quiet street between St Germain and St Michel, Azabu is a piece of Japan dropped in middle of Paris. In a minimalist decor and yet cozy atmosphere, the number of seating is limited to the counter in front of the chef and his Teppanyiaki or on the few tables. A vaulted cellar downstairs offers additional seating for... More

Been in Azabu with friends yesterday. Definitely one of the best place to have a nice moment in this area of Bucci, Saint-Germain des Prés. We had had the simple Azabu set menu, with some extra, like the bento box of starters for me, or a special king crab mai plate for one of my friend. All of us had... More

For anyone who has lived in Japan it's rare to come across a Japanese restaurant outside Asia that takes you back there the moment you walk through the door. Azabu does just that. After passing by for years without stepping inside I discovered Azabu in 2014 and what a find..The dishes are exquisite and truly authentic. Mami-san, the owner, told... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
